Storage of Stampin Up! Ink Pads?
How does everyone store their ink pads? I am confused - I have been told that you should store your ink pads up side down, however, it seems like when I store them upside down (With the black & white sticker facing up) it dries them out? Anyone have any tips?

Do you have the newer or older style of pads? The new ones store upside down automatically when you close them. Store them flat, not on end.

The new SU pads you store with the top up becuz' they are already upside-down when you close them!
I have no idea why your other pads have dried out being stored turned over. . . :?

I store my new style pads as follows: classic - natural position ; craft pads - upside down.
It gets a bit convoluted, but the pigment pads work better for me if they are stored right side up (for conventional non SU pads) and dye-based inks store best upside down (for conventional non-SU pads). So, I store mine

Stamp Pad storage
Speaking of how to store stamp pads, what do you store the pads in besides the expensive holder SU sells.
I haven't been successful in finding anything to hold them in.

A friend has the 70-pad holder and it's quite nice.

Did you order direct from Fellowes? How was it shipped to you for so cheap? I just went to the site and the item is $5.99 and shipping is $7.75. Still overall a good price if this really works! But I want to know how it get it for the price you did!!!
Are you happy with the way it spins/turns?

I bought 6. I paid 9.95 for shipping of 6.
I bought 6 so I would have enough for sisters, downline and any friends. I had heard that fellowes was going to discontinue.
Well....my sisters didn't want them and my downline really wanted the SU holder.
I have 3 extra if anyone is interested. I would like 8 plus shipping to you. They are really light but long... Just pm me if you are interested.

Fellowes
I love my fellowes holder...... you can fit all of the pads on there. And for $5.99.... even if you have to pay $7.75 for shipping...... it's still a good deal and you get it really quick.

I have all the Classic Pads and Craft pads, plus many Spectrum, Stazon, Encore, etc. pads. I ordered mine all at once (each color family that is) so I could have the box they come in to store them. I felt that was fine.
I finally broke down and ordered SU!s Color Caddy and fell in love! The next week I ordered another one. And guess what I'll be ordering by the end of this month (Get that free SAB set)---another one. Now I wonder what I did before my Color Caddys. I find that I stamp more, or at least with less frustration. I love that the refills are just above my pads too. And ALL the pads I have fit in it (Spectrum, Encore, old SU! pads, Stazons, etc.).
I have very little space and believe it or not this really give me more space and I'm better organized. Sorry if I sound like a Color Caddy comercial.
Happy Stampin',
Mindy

ink organizer
A really cheap way to store your inks is to go to Walmart's hardware department and get one of those 18 drawer organizers. I think they run about $8 or so. My SU and non-SU inks fit in the drawers. On the front of the drawer, I stuck a white label on which had that specific color stamped. I have 2 ink pads in each drawer. The 2 labels fit perfectly and I can see exactly what colors I have without having to open any of the drawers.
Hope that helps!

I have a great unit that holds all 48 pads and has a spot for your marker and reinker right next to the pad. I love it. It spins and has 2 drawers and lots of pegs for wheels. I will put a picture in my gallery and post link.

Here is the link to the picture of the unit in the previous post. I tried to put a picture right in the post, but I couldn't quite figure out how to do that.

I hope that works.

Wow! Where did you get that wonderful holder? I love that it has a place for the markers too. That is the one thing that keeps me from buying the color caddy from Stampin' Up. I would really like to be able to store my marker right by the ink pad.

Hey everyone, I think I was looking at the right thing on the fellowes website. It says it's no longer available. Has anyone else seen that??
Any other supplier???

I love my fellowes stamp pad holder (well cassette holder to them)! The only problem is that it only holds the new pads. I have the SU one but it just doesn't compare. The fellowes also spins wonderfully...SU's I had to buy a carousel for it. I wish I hadn't bought the SU one.

Angela,
Yes, I saw that it was no longer available on the fellowes website. I had added it to my cart and then decided to wait. I went to the site last Friday to show a friend of mine and it was still in my cart. We decided to get it together to split the shipping. But when we tried to view the details it said it was no longer available. However, it was still in my cart and allowed me to change the quantity to two. So they let me order it even though it said it was discontinued because it was already in my cart. It's already been shipped and should be here on Thursday. Maybe if you call they can let you order it, but have disabled it online??? Good Luck!

I have this organizer to, and I absolutely LOVE IT! It didn't cost me a penny, cause I got it for Christmas
I like how it will hold the pads, pens and reinkers all in the same place, I don't have to go to different places to find everything. I put me tape and bone folder in on drawer and my couple of stazon and versa marks in the other drawer, and in the space above the 2 drawers, I have my pastels and pencils, and on the top I have my ruler and srubber. Everthing in one place!
Love It.
