Default Anyone started making Christmas cards yet?

Hey I was just wondering if anyone had started making Christmas cards yet? The reason I ask now is because I am so dern slow on completing anything that I really should have started about January. In the new SU catalog I found a sete that I think is just so cute. Gifts of Joy pg 37.

My demo has a monthly stamp a stack that starts in August and runs monthly through Dec. Aug-Nov. we made 48 total cards and then in Dec. we made gift card holders and tags.

I usually need to make 10-15 more cards in addition to those. It's not because I have a lot of friends, its because I have to keep one of most of the cards we made at the stamp a stack. (:

I haven't started yet, but they're on my mind. My mother in law is ordering The Snowflake Spot ( page 43 ) today for my birthday. Once I get that I'll probably officially start my Christmas card making!

Happy Birthday!! I love getting stamp setes for my bday but everyone seems to think that I wouldnt enjoy them because its something I would have to pickout and order. I wouldnt care though thats what I always want..stamps and paper that is. My husband thinks its crazy how excited I get over paper !!
Well good luck on your Christmas cards and hopefully I'll get them done this year. I better get busy

Mine are actually finished. I've been doing the Christmas Card challenge since January and now I'm doing card sets to have on hand for last minute Christmas presents.

I LOVE that set! I am totally going to buy it, but I think I'm going to use Snowflakes (the one that's been in the catty for a few years) for this years cards... I've been wanting that set for ages and just bought it this year, so I need to use it first!

Why can't we edit posts anymore?

Anyhow... Wanted to edit to add that I haven't started the cards yet, but have been thinking a lot about what I want to do with them! I have to stamp some baptismal invites and then will probably get started on the Christmas ones...

I can't decide what cards I want to make for Christmas. When does the SU Holiday Mini come out? I might want to wait to see if that catalog has something that "jumps" out.

haha, I'm with Stamp_cat. Making them for the troops has got me in the mood so I'm going to go with it and keep on making them. This is the first time I've ever been in the holiday spirit in July.

I always think all the hoopla about the new catty is so funny, cause what the new catty means to me is... hmmmm... what can I use for my Christmas cards this year? I always get a plan going, and then I fall into the trap of thinking... maybe I should just wait to see what's in the holiday mini just in case I like something better. Not this year! I'm ordering soon and getting started!

Does it count if I made mine for last year and never got them sent out?? That is the first time I had ever missed sending out Christmas cards and I felt awful! But now I'm kinda excited.....they're done for this year!!!

Default Christmas Cards

I was going to start next week - I have all the stuff because I bought it last year and never got started on them (story of my life).

But now I'm sidetracked working on my card for our Tennessee Stampers get-together on August 12.

I'm using the Peace/Love set

Well, I've made a couple of Xmas/holiday cards, but just for fun. This is my first year stamping & I'm not sure I can possibly make them for everyone I send to. I'm sure I will be super choosy, & just send to those I know will appreciate them. That will knock the list down by about 80%, lol!!! And I will probably make a different one for everyone, since I really can't stand making the same card twice --guess I get bored easily!

I make my sisters cards for her for her present from me. I have made hers now on to mine. I can't decide whether I want to use the Peace be Unto you set I have already bought or the Glad Tidings one that is new in the catty. I love it too!

I'm making a layered card using Outlines stamps. I've stamped a lot of pieces and cut them out, but assembling isn't going very fast. Oh, well...if I finish before mid-December I'll still be ahead of previous years!

I did I did!!! I had to use the rest of my bliss blue before I received my caribbean blue....otherwise I'd NEVER use it up! So I decided on bliss blue Christmas cards. As it is right now, I have to hide my bashful blue so I am not tempted to use that too! Almost done with them.

Let me just say that I'm bowing down to those of you who have started or already done. That is just awesome!!!

Every year I tell myself that I'll get them done in the summer and every year I don't start them until mid-November! LOL! This year I'm telling myself that I won't start them until November so hopefully then I'll actually finish them by September. A little reverse psychology never hurt! LOL!

Nope, not yet! I made all my Christmas cards last January 'cause I was really into card making for a while. We end up giving out around 70 to all the members of our church (my hubby's a pastor so it wouldn't be nice to give only some people one and not others) and we mail out around 40 or 50 (and that's just family...)! But, I got a couple orders for Christmas cards so I'm looking forward to having fun with that!!

I ordered a House Mouse stamp with a mouse putting santa hats on zebra finches. My DH raises finches so the stamp is perfect. I need to get started very soon since there will be a lot of coloring to do.

Well girls, here it is the end of July now and I have yet to even start making my Christmas cards. I sure hope that I can get busy soon or I'll only have one card made like I did last year.

Good luck everyone

I've got a couple dozen Christmas cards either finished or pending some accessories. I just picked up the rest of what I'll need this week, so hopefully this weekend I can finish the remainder up.

Congrats to everyone for all their planning!

WHAT???... Christmas cards??? I thought Christmas was cancelled this year...LOL. JK. I have never made Christmas cards shame on me... I just get too busy and and wait until the last minutes and go to COSTCO w/ a cute pic of the kids and send them out. Every year I say to myself I'm going to make Christmas but don't :(. So don't hold your breath because I probably won't this year and if I do it will be a MIRACLE !!! Maybe I need to move next door to JulieHRR she could kick my BUTTEEE in gear!!!!

I have figured out the design and the stamp set I will be using (Ageless Adornment) but I am waiting to receive my paper from jerrysartarama.com. Once the kids start school in two weeks, I am going to get started on them. I make 85 cards a year...so it takes me a bit. But my goal each year is to have them all completed by Thanksgiving.
