I have only submitted one project for publication and had never heard anything......well imagine my surprise to walk by the new issue of "Scrap and Stamp Arts" and see my card and magnet on the cover no less! I was thrilled! So I look through the issue expecting to find my card somewhere inside and guess what? Nothing, nada, no mention anywhere! Not even a credit for my card and magnet that is on their cover!!!!!!!!!!! I was so dissapointed!
Has anyone else had this happen to them? I wrote an email to the editor but I don't know if it will help, I just would have liked to have had credit, know what I mean???

That is a fine howdy-you-do. Very rude, and I would think, somewhat illegal? Not giving credit where credit is due? Were they thinking, oh, maybe she won't notice?
Congratulations though, what a great accomplishment. Hope they respond quickly and with apologies...
Whenever I have had a project published they always listed my name. They will normally send you a letter and a free issue of the magazine before they hit the newstands.
Sounds like someone just messed up and forgot to send you the letter or maybe your name was seperated from the project so they didn't know how to contact you...
Let us know what the editor says. At the very least they should give you credit in the next issue.
Which issue are you talking about? I have the Aug. and the June issue in front of me. The Aug. issue is a card using Liquid Applique. The June issue has a bunch of cards and a little tin on it (is that a magnet? - it's VERY COOL)
Just went throught both issues and could find absolutely NOTHING correcting their error in the Aug. issue....maybe in the next one. Sorry that you were slighted...but the card (what I could see in the collage of cards) and the magnet are cool!!!
Hey, let us know how that turns out, we might ought to boycott those types of magazines and NOT buy them if this is how they run their business.
They wouldn't have much to publish if it weren't for those who submit, so please let us know how that turns out. I will certainly be curious to see what they do about it.

that's disappointing - I feel badly for you. I'm hoping it was just a mistake and they will correct it in a future issue. I'm sure it's hard to put together a magazine like that and not make a least some mistakes.
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me
It's the June issue, the card using Artifacts and the favor magnet tin were mine.....it's dissapointing for sure.....I can see all my friends going..."sure that one is yours"! haha........
I'll let you know if they ever respond......

Still no update from this magazine, I sent an email to the editor, on July 3rd. I guess my next recourse is to write a real letter! I want to believe this was an honest mistake, but to not even get an answer to my email......I'm just not happy right now! I'm going to tell them I have a lot of stamping friends and that they better not treat their artists this way or the word will get out! Then we'll see how many submissions they get!

Why don't you call and try to talk to somebody - congrats on getting published, and sorry they ruined what should have been a totally exciting experiance.
Congrats on getting published. I agree with scrapmo suggestion about trying to call someone. If that doesn't work, I would write them a letter. Hopefully, you will hear from the editor soon. Let us know when you find out anything.
