Any advice for keeping up with the volume on this site? I've spent several days reading new and old posts and going through the gallery and yet the posts and samples keep on coming, faster than anyone can possibly read them...
I've discovered Mark All in forum and used it to "start fresh". I presume it's a bit easier when the "read all since last visit" button is working.
set the kitchen timer...seriously! It's way too easy to while the day away here when too many other things need to get done! (like stamp!) I have to alot myself time and then back off (unless I'm sick or something) to do other stuff. Welcome!!
AlysonRR, excellent question!! I am also new to the group (hey, I just looked and I joined up the day after you) and I am finding myself spending way to much time at this site  when I could be stamping or other things that need to done around the house. And it doesn't help that I am taking classes on line, so I am always on the computer and when I need a break from my studies, I find myself here!!! I am hoping that the newness will wear off after awhile, but the more time I spend here, the more I think that that is not going to happen!!! I guess that is where time management needs to come into play or as MSBetsyZ said the kitchen timer
I am limited to one hour a day on the internet and that hour is now spent on SCS. Hey, at least that stops me from going internet shopping which is another addictive hobby!
Oh I love the suggestion someone made about setting the kitchen timer while surfing on SCS. Luckily, I have a little toddler running around that serves me as the perfect timer. I think that even my husband knows by now that I cannot be on Splitcoast just for a half hour. I'm so addicted to this site. So to answer your question just go ahead and "set the kitchen timer".
I log on SCS during work. I work in Accounting and always at the computer so log in about 50 thousands times a day. It feels like that anyways. Actually, about every hour I have to go check on the latest. That way when I get home I can stamp..... I so grateful for the job I have in flexiblilty....I wonder if my boss knows. Hmmmm
I only read the posts on the home page and almost never look in the gallery unless a post sends me there to see samples. It helps to limit my time and keep down on the spending. If I look in the gallery, I just find more stuff that I need to buy so I quit looking!

The search engine is a great tool to whittle down the site to what you are actually looking for cause this site can easily take you into sensory overload. The "today's additions" button on the home page will also limit your "overload" and keep you up to date and the egg timer sounds like a great idea!
You simply can't read them all unless you spend all day here. I just skim and look for things that I wonder about too or that I may be able to help with. As for cards, I sort by latest and keep going until I get to ones I have seen before. If I am really behind, then I just cut my losses and I miss some.
I am so glad someone asked this question! I am also new to the site and just can't get enough. I say I will just check real quick and an hour later I am still wandering around the site. I love the kitchen timer idea. I think I will start doing that - otherwise nothing will ever get done around here.
