Default catalog MISTAKE???

On page 15 of the new catalog they use the Many Thanks set and even list it in the recipe. What's up? Is it a big mistake or do you think SU! will bring it out of retirement? I sent an email to SU! but no response so far. I don't understand why they retired it in the first place--with no replacement that I can see.

AND, did anybody notice in August Stampin' Success a "demo it" card sample using Nature Sketchbook?? It didn't make the catalog - maybe it's coming later sometime??

Someone else had mentioned that on p. 192 they used a set that's not even in the catty for the Christmas card that's featured.

Anyone else wondering about the Definitely Diner set (p. 97)? To me, it seems like it should say DINNER since it features silverware, food, etc. I'd think a DINER set would have something related to a restaurant....but maybe that's just me - I've just got myself convinced that it must be a typo. Yep, that's the teacher in me talking!

X-mas set on pg 192 is in the Holiday mini.

And yes, I noticed the "diner" set last night. I thought it should be "dinner" too.

Veggiegirl, I thought the same thing. A diner is a small restaurant and this stamp set has all the makings for dinner, or so I thought.

i actually want the diner set, and thought it was appropriately named. the images have a retro look to them, and diners are (kinda) retro, although there certainly are diners out there now. i didn't even think about how it might be "dinner" cuz diner seemed so right for it.

Also, why do you suppose they left out the wheel summary pages? I barely even notice the wheels now.

I wondered about "dinner" vs. "diner" too. And my 8-year-old son commented on the lack of the wheel summary pages.

Y'all have good memories to notice sets that are being retired and/or haven't been introduced yet!

I noticed that the journaling on the layout on page 172 says "mater" instead of "matter". oops.

At least there aren't any pictures of seemingly naked kids this year, that I've noticed anyway. That surprised me in a not-so-good way when they had the one a few years ago.

The lack of a wheel page was one of the first things that stood out to me. It's unfortunate with our new jumbo wheels that you have to go searching to see them! :?

I, too, noticed the Christmas card on page 192. I looked all over for the set and when I looked in the index, it listed the name of the set, only to recieve my holiday mini catalog and it is the wrong name. Oh well we are all human, but it does make for some "hmm's" among customers when you try to explain it....

Default Wheels

I actually got to meet Brent Steele and he said that the wheel summary pages had to go in order to make room for the kits. They didn't want to change the size of the catalog.

That is so funny Debbi for you to find that! I had to scroll back up to check it out!

I was also calling it dinner until today when I was making my priority list. Only this morning did I notice that it actually said DINER!

I had many customers order wheels by looking at the summary page. One bought 6 wheels this way! Sorry, too, to see it go. I noticed a few errors with the "recipes" in the back of the catalog. In some, the pages were wrong. Too bad, I knew to look at the few recipes before and after, but some customers are just going to be frustrated. Oh well. Life goes on and I'll still be placing a LARGE order on Monday. Tee hee. Ooops, here comes my husband. Must log off before he notices bit about large order.

Re: the seemingly naked child...

In the 2002-03 catalog, on page 188, there's a layout in which one of the photos is of a girl looking at her baby brother. The girl doesn't appear to have any clothes on, but none of her private parts show.

It just weirded me out (still does a bit) that they would include a photo like that!

Default no recipe for one card

There is actually a card in the catty that has no recipe at all. pg 196. I was trying to decide if they used the designer vellum to make the plaid background paper. Didn't look like it was the plaid maker. But no recipe. Hmm...maybe they should have really checked these out better...I've notices a few typos already in it.

Default naked kids...

oh come on, that child is hardly showing at all and is probably wearing one of those bubble suits anyway!!! I think if you want to complain about nudity, better look at all the junk we, and our kids have to see on TV, magazines and biilboard advertising these days.

That little girl could be wearing a tube top and shorts, or skirt! The way the woman is holding the child, all you're seeing is a shoulder and part of her leg. I thought from the description it was a little more "riske"! Or if she's like my neighbour kid, she's wearing a bathing suit! (My neighbour's 3 year old will wear a bathing suit every day, under any clothing. She thinks she needs to be ready just in case she can go swimming!)

Well, don't you need the same things for both? What I find interesting that for a DD set the shapes are so small.

Definitively Diner. Most DD sets are big was my first thought.

But see ~ if they little 2 Step symbol was in BLACK instead of this gray I would have noticed it, my bad!! Or theirs for having it in gray.

I think its very appropriate to show little naked kids in the catalog lol...I mean, what parent HASNT taken a picture of thier kid in the buff? Be it in the tub, or running around the backyard. And although I dont scrapbook, if I did, I would certainly include those photos.
