Default Should I get Sparkling Summer?

I can't decide! Do those of you who have it actually use it? Or is it one of those that you just can't wait to get and then you never do anything with it? I know that it will require coloring in on most projects and I don't mind that (I'm finally getting some markers on this order! ).

Is this set a must have or should I pass on it for something else?

I have it and I am not sure what I feel about it. I do use it, I would more in the summer obviously but I am just not sure about it. I love using the lemon-aid glass with crystal effects and using glitter on the popsicles. I use the background stamp included with it all the time though. I have used the chair and umbrella, it is cute. The best thing I have seen done is a little pink lemonaid koolaid packet made and then the lemonaid glass stamped on the front, I bought the set due to that demo. I got it after the summer so maybe someone that has had it longer would be better for info. I think if you live near the beach or are scrapbooking picnics or beach scenes then it would be great. Sorry I am not any more help...

I just got Sparking Summer and I plan to use it alot!
We have several summer birthdays in my family.
Both of our family reunions take place in July so I am thinking scrapbook pages. Plus we often plan a family get together at the beach in August, so I am planning on making really cute invites.

Have fun and think summer!

I love my Sparkling Summer set. I have used it quite a bit (even through the cooler weather) and see all sorts of possibilities once the warm weather rolls around for everything from invitations to gift items. I think you'll be glad to have it.

I was going to post a question about that set, except I was going to ask should I get On the Beach or Sparkling Summer. I just don't know which one to get -- maybe I should get both! Beate did a cute, cute gel card with Sparkling Summer -- check it out in the gel card gallery.

Anyone who has both On the Beach and Sparkling Summer, do you have a preference? Help me decide!

I just got Sparkling Summer, and I have had On the Beach for almost a year now. How much have I used On the Beach? MAYBE twice. I just don't like the style of it... I can't think of good color combinations for this, and have only seen a few really cute ideas for cards. However, I've already started using and loving Sparkling Summer. I LOVE the popsicles and lemonade glass, and just like the "edgier" style to it. That's just my humble opinion, but I think Sparkling Season is more hip.

I have and use Sparkling Summer. I love it!! I was just going to borrow it from a friend but decided I could really do a lot with it so bought it for myself. You could use it from your vacations at the beach (I sure could use a beach vacation) to your kids eating popcicles in the backyard. I'm thinking scrapbook pages here. But you could also use it a lot for summer party invites, etc.

Sparkling Summer was the first set I ordered from the 2004-05 book...I LOVE IT! I haven't been using it much since the cold weather set in, but I do use it A TON once it starts to warm up! It is very versatile. I say...

GET IT! You won't regret it!

Hmm.....well, my up up upline just purchased this set for me. In return, I made a whole display board using this one set. I have about 10 projects done so far and I will upload them after the meeting (Feb 12) so if you are on the fence, it may convince you!! I have really had some fun making stuff with it.

This is the very first set I purchased out of the new catty! There are some terrific cards posted here, you may have to go all the way back to the beginning to look. I love using crystal effects on the popsicles, lemonaid, etc. to look real. You can use real bright colors, which I like, too. The background stamp is unique and cute, too. I have put this set aside somewhat for winter stamps, but I am sure I will be pulling it out again very soon, it is so fun to play with!

I am a big scrapbooker, so must admit that is why I originally bought it! I have made 6 different cards with it but no scrapbook pages yet, so I know I will still be using it a lot more in the future.

Emily, I can't wait to see all the cards you have made with it, please post on this thread so I can check them out immediately, okay? Thanks!

Oh yes, I just had to quote spammie (this isn't an exact quote, I couldn't find the original, but you get the gist of it!)

"Anytime you ask whether you need something stamping related on SCS, the answer is always YES!"

I have On the Beach and am receiving Sparkling Summer this week!

I love On the Beach - I see it as a more sophisticated summer set. I used it for a family vacation scrapbook and it turned out beautiful. (gift for my parents). I also did a scrapbook for last summer's workshops with it - I kept it simple with Night of Navy and Vanilla CS.

Sparkling Summer reminds me of my children - so I had to have it for the numerous popsicle pictures we will have this summer!!!!

Good luck with your decision!

I have to chime in and say YES! It is one of those sets I've dying to have, and if SU! ever quits offering fabulous specials, I will get it soon! I think it would make a fabulous OSW for scrapbook pages. I just love those popcicles!
