This week we are going to make Artist Trading Cards. This are just little trading card sized bits of art.
Here's a template on how to cut the most from one sheet of cardstock: http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/tcdiag.htm
After you have the right size, you are only limited to your imagination. Anything goes. I searched the gallery for 'atc'; here is plenty of inspiration for you: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers=
As always, if you have questions, please ask. If you have suggestions, please share!
When you upload, please put TLC66 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread. If you need help uploading or posting a link to this thread, check out this link: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...hlight=gallery

If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see
who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!
Have fun!
Oh my gosh, I can hardly believe I am the first here today. Beth you are a quiet one. In and out like a flash. Sounds like an interesting challenge. I've never even heard the term. I'm off to give it a try.
I've never tried one, but they sound like fun. Jen collects them for her students to trade......so if anyone wants a home for their creations I'd bet she'd love them.

Jen, you're gonna get a bunch of cards for your kids. I'll have to sleep on this one -- I've never done this before, so I will (as the title to this challenge says) try a new technique!
Sounds like fun! I just picked up a copy of Paper Made Easy (June/July issue) and they have a whole section on ATC's. Very interesting and helpful! Apparently the size is a must, so collectors can fit them into baseball card holders.
Never heard of these before, but they look like fun. Will have to see what I can come up with.

Well I am with my daughter now, in Florida, getting ready for her upcoming surgery. But I did bring some things with me, so I will see if I can get a sheet of these made and send to Jen70. Thanks for the challenge, Sharon.

Fun challenge! I was in an ATC swap when I was first on SCS. I just found some of those ATC's yesterday in my stamp room. I ended up putting most them on full size cards 'cause I couldn't figure out what else to do with them. LOL!
Sweet! This is right up my alley. I need to make some new trading cards for my students. I'll find time for this one even though Monday will be busy.
Jen, if any of us know for sure we are going to send these to you for your students, would it be better if we created things especially geared for kids? If I'm going to make them I sure want them to be things the kids would love to have or use. Can you tell us how the kids use them?
I'm in - I've seen them demonstrated on Carol Duvall, but just never thought much of collecting them. Jen, you're gonna get swamped! But, also, they could be mounted on a regular card as the focal point! I'm not sure if we're to make a whole sheet or just one - Beth?

What a neat idea Beth and you surprized us by posting early! Hope you are having a great long weekend. I hope to have some time later today to try this out.

Thanks Jeanne! I just read your post.
If you are interested in donating trading cards to my special ed program, please PM me if you don't have my address. I usually get asked: How many of the same desin? 3-4 to usually great. We have a large group and that doesn't make it too exclusive but still small enough for trading. But it doesn't have to be that much. Whatever works for you, will work for us.

My special needs kids are 11-14 years in age. They enjoy animals, sports, food, vehicles, and retro type prints.
We still have 3 weeks left of school  But if they get here after that, they will be put to good use in the fall ;)
Thanks for asking Kitty!
Oh, and they actually do trade them! It is wonderful for language and social skills. And the cards are earned through an incentive program for completed school work and good behavior.
Here is my first ever ATC. I am like Jami and would probably use these as card fronts if I had to make too many of them. Jen, if I get a few more done ( within the next 3 weeks, lol ) you don't want us to date, sign and number these right ?
Thanks Beth for really taking me a step further in my techniques learning process.
Well, I never even thought to check if the challenge was posted last night! Great challenge.
And for those of you who don't know what to do with a trading card (besides Jen), you can also use them as the top layer/focal point on a regular size card.
As soon as I saw this challenge...I thought of you Jen! Too bad my stamping area is cleaned up for today's BBQ. I'll crank some of these out as soon as my stamping area is back up and running again.

THANKS :-D
Do you want 3 or 4 of the exact card or can it be a theme?

Not sure if this was mentioned... I also use them as scrapbook embellishments and as gift cards on top of wrapped presents.
When they first started the ATC challenge some of the demos were saying that they were going to use these as their business cards. They said it explains what they do better than anything else could.
I never realized how much fun these were to make--I made four this morning using basically scraps and a few embellishments. They are headed your way Jen. I'm PMing you for some info on how you use these in your classroom. I may borrow that idea for next year. Here they are: Celebrate ATCs Hooray ATC Fantastic ATC
