Ok, how do you do this and get a clean image? I've used overhead transparencies and decided to try to Floating Acetate Card last night with one of our window sheets. Even though it turned out pretty cute, I had to keep my stampin' mist and Stazon cleaner close at hand for my booboos since the surface is so slick when I try to stamp.
Any hints or suggestions because I'd like to play around a little more with clear cards and using the window sheets/acetate.

Practice, practice, practice . . . don't I sound like your mamma? The good thing is you can clean it off if you goof. If you don't have too much ink on your stamp, that helps the *slide* somewhat. Also, don't press too hard on the stamp or you'll slide too.
For me, I stand up when I stamp on acetate and then try to go straight down and straight up using a light hand. I wish there were an easier way; that acetate is slippery stuff!!
i have done a bunch of this and found the best way is to wait several seconds before stamping, to give the ink time to "gel" or dry up a little bit so it's not as wet and you don't go slip sliding away. Once it does, it's a little bit tacky, so you don't get such a fuzzy image.
then I put it off to the side to dry completely before my next steps, whatever that might be.....
cool tech is to flip it over, drop on some reinkers (light or bright colors) and then blob on some crystal effects, and smear it all around, then sprinkle a teensy bit of dazzling diamonds, and then stick a crumpled and then un crumpled sheet of white tissue paper (the cheapo uncoated kind) and let that all dry, then trim and mount your image on your cs. It's called caught in crystal or something like that....

I've found to go along with the steady hand and patience I can get the best body angle and steady hand by stamping on the floor.
I know it sounds strange but every time I have a hard time trying to stamp on transparencies/Acetate I get my best images on the floor. I put a large cutting board & a pad of paper under what I'm stamping and 9 out of 10 come out clean.
I have been unable to successfully stamp on acetate, which is frustrating because Julie HRR has an awesome Christmas card with the acetate window effect.

Yeah, I totally agree!!! This is one of the reasons why I want to play around with it some more!
I did do a couple sheets that I stamped, xyron'ed and pearl exed that were ok but it's so hit or miss!!!

Thanks to all of you for your help! I was more patient last night and tried again and made a card that totally wow'ed myself!!!! I think it works better for me when I can use an image that doesn't need to be so crisp and On Gossamer Wings worked great.
Also would suggest NOT pressing down really hard on the acetate. Make contact with the acetate, but don't press down really hard like you might do with regular rubber stamping. Also hold the acetate with one/two fingers on the corner and lift the stamp straight up in one smooth movement.
It does certainly take practice, but you can always wipe the acetate off quickly, if you don't like the image. Use a bit of stamp cleaner to get the acetate clean. Let dry then try again, repeat, again, repeat, again........
