YOU SHOULD BE !!!!! SCS just posted the May Fan Club members gallery and it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!! If you've been sitting on the fence trying to decide if the $25 is worth it to join.....well let me tell you......IT IS !!!!! Each month I am constantly amazed at the creativity of these women and the absolutely stunning cards they create each and every month !!! If you're wondering what these cards look like then...........JOIN !!! I guarantee you...you will NOT regret it !!!
I'm kind of confused what being a fan club member gets you- other than just to support the site where we all spend so much of our time.
Is it just that you get to look at the cards posted? Or are there templates and "recipies" for each of the cards?
If there are good instructions and templates- $25 (for the year, right?) is a good deal- like a magazine subscription, and you get to keep SCS running.
I joined it quite a while ago but if memory serves me right...it's a yearly donation of a minimum $25 and that gives you access to the Fan Club Monthly submissions by the Dirty Dozen girls and also gives you access to the templates and instructions that they post for their cards. It's not just a good deal.....IT'S A GREAT DEAL !!! Plus it helps to support this truly, unique and amazing website.
I joined last September, just to support the site. I have yet to go to the DD gallery. I think it also gives you the ability to search the gallery by "stamp set title". But.... I truly don't remember.
Whatever the case..... I LOVE it here..... and intend to stay a paying member!!

I might have to join.
When they were doing some major upgrades to the site last fall, they restricted uploading to Fan Club members only in order to reduce the traffic so they could work. ;)
There are recipes posted, just like in the general gallery, and templates if they're needed to recreate the project. Sometimes you may see items in the member galleries that say they were inspired by something in the DD section, but you won't be able to get the pattern unless you're a Fan Club member.

Oh My Gosh, SheStampsHeCamps .....I can not believe you haven't been to the Fan Club Gallery.....stop whatever you are doing right now and go there !!! I promise....you will freak out !!!!

It is SCS's thank-you gift to those that donate financial support to the site, cuz the servers required to handle the traffic load of this magnitude, for the forums and the massive galleries, etc. are very *costly*, to say the least.
Without that support, this site could not exist as it does. The Resources Page alone, with its tutorials, is worth far more than a $25 book or mag subscription that would contain far less material and instructional information.
I'm afraid I'm biased, and must admit to considering it quite special and unique, personally speaking.

The designers, who volunteer their hours, creative talent, and resources, do provide recipes, and frequently share their exclusive templates for Fan Club Members' personal/non-commercial use, if they have developed a project requires one. They very generously do so, but it is not required of them, all things considered.

Well, Fan Club Members receive a year's worth of galleries that begins from the time they donate, and access to ALL the back "issues", from when the gallery was first launched back in August 2004. I don't know of any print mags that offer this to their subscribers?
And, yes, your donation helps keep the SCS light on 24/7. ;)

tee hee.... I freak out enough with the talent that's in the 'regular gallery'!! I don't think I could stand anymore excitement!! LOL
Well be prepared to "freak out" even more !!!! Seriously, I've been trying to peel myself off the ceiling just from this months Fan Club Gallery alone !!!! Take a look and tell me if I'm wrong
Okay....I know I've talked a lot with this thread but I want to give you an example today of how awesome the Fan Club Gallery is.....StamperSharon posted this amazing card with template and instructions....exclusive to Fan Club Members (hehehehehe) and I had a couple of questions on how she created the card....she has graciously emailed me several times to give me further instructions and has been exetremely kind and patient with my questions. The exact same can be said for every member of the Dirty Dozen and I have also emailed JulieHRR on several occasions asking her questions and each and every time she just couldn't be kinder !!!! Even if this "major perk" wasn't included in membership...I would still join !!! I don't EVER want to see the day that this website doesn't exist !!! Getting the FREEBIES of the Fan Club Gallery is like getting a free car when you buy a magazine subscription !!!!
Well folks you sold me. I've never really done anything on the resources page, so I don't know how much I'll get out of the gallery other than checking it out- but I visit the site more than once each day, so I'd say it's worth supporting just because of that
Oh yeah....and I forgot to mention.....Sweet Cookiestamper aka Diane made this incredible curved box that is so sweet !!! I made one today and it's amazing !!!! You've GOT TO SEE IT !!!!!

Ok girls! I am telling you it is a must. Those dirty girls are incredible! You never see anything as good as they create in any magazine...It is like getting your favorite mag twice over....trust me...I cant wait each month for them to post. They are incredible!!!!

Often we will compare the $25 Fan Club donation to a magazine subscription. But I have NEVER seen a magazine that will offer to give you ALL of their back issues FREE.
The Fan Club/Dirty Dozen Gallery goes all the way back to July of 2004 and contains over 3,000 pictures. On top of that there is the Fan Club Forum where the patterns/templates/techniques are posted.
When you do donate and begin looking back at all the neat stuff, you will wonder why you didn't join a whole lot sooner.
I agree with you all it is WELL worth the $.......sometimes I look at DD gallery and have to walk around a little just so my mouth can get off the floor!!!! DD gallery is AWESOME to say the least.....thanks ladies for all your time and effort!!!!
You get a lot for $25. To make it easier for you, here's the link to the page with all the info and the "donate" button to select when you're done reading all about it. Come and enjoy the Dirty Side! Forums at Splitcoaststampers
When I said that I made one of Diane's boxes and it looked awesome....I meant Diane's box was awesome and I made one too.....when I re-read that message, I thought "wow...I sound vain"
LOL So far, I've only been able to look at a couple cards in the most recent gallery, but even my 5 year old daughter commented on how pretty the cards were!! Especially StamperSharon's ribbon/acetate card! ;)
Sharon did this amazing card using the 5 in 1 template that you have to check out !!! I'm waiting for the last photo of her project to be approved to look at it too !!! I'm trying to be patient....but I'm not doing so well. I dying to see how she decorated the inside of her card....it's been pending since last night :(
I agree with everyone........this is definately a cool site.
I can't even express my gratitude (jump . jump . jump) without blubbering. Total inspiration..........spread the word!!!!
IT'S GREAT TO BE A FAN!!!
The Fan Club is SO worth it. I'm a JulieHRR groupie so I know I can't live without it (she does the most AWESOME stuff even in her regular gallery - but her Fan Club stuff is even more amazing plus she offers incredible details and instructions). Of course, all the other DD Girls are fantastic as well - their Fan Club submissions are way above and beyond anything I've ever seen ... you can truly tell they spent a great deal of thought and time with these artisitc creations. You will NOT be disappointed with the Fan Club. JOIN!!!! Plus you will be supporting your favorite web-site! It's a win-win
The $25 is sooooo worth it!! Better than most magazines! Plus, like was already said, you can go back and see all the back issues. It is AWESOME!!! You won't be sorry if you join, promise!!! LOL!

But are these fan club cards do-able by the average stamper? By the sounds of things, these sacred grouping of cards sound like they would be extremely hard to make, and if so its not somthing I am interested in. nice to look at yes, but if its waaay out of my range its of no help to me. so my question is, are the Cards in the fan club gallery able to be made by your average stamper? or just ones that have been doing it for many many years? are there a ton of steps and supplies needed? the description of the club is pretty vague.
I would say that everything is Do-able...........I've done quite a few, making small modifications. I think what everyone is saying is that the cards make you look "outside the box" that we sometimes get trapped in. Same design over and over again. Hope this helps.
I'm, just a begining stamper (a bit over a year) No, I can't stamp anyways close to what they do. I won't even try! But the design ideas, colors, layout, and special directions and templates they provide, teach us all something.
You have to see them for yourself. This is more than *just a card*!
On top of it, they are the sweetest bunch you'd ever want to meet!
