cutting stamp problem?/question

I am new at this whole thing and totally addicted all ready. I even became a demonstrator to support my insane habit... I have been doing okay cutting the stamps but every once in a while I notice I get ink on the borders (on the stamp) which goes on my paper---unwanted of course. I started to look and practice before I stamp. I also started to wip off excess ink with paper towel...What am I doing wrong. I am cutting in straight lines and trying to cut close to the image but still end up with these streaks? Thanks in advance, Barb

I think the only think is to cut really close....I sometime have the same problem

When I have this problem with a stamp I usually snip off that little portion. It can also happen if you press too hard with the stamp.

Ditto the above. Sometimes you think you have cut close enough to the image, and then you stamp it..........

What I do to trim the irritating edges once they are mounted on the blocks, or if it is a high detail area, is to use an exacto knife. This way you can get so much closer then you can with scissors.

Thats what I do also. I have also done this to some of my non-SU stamps that come mounted, and have to much rubber.

It's possible that you are rocking the stamp when you stamp. Often you don't notice you're doing it til you look for it. But try making sure you just stamp straight down, and don't lean the stamp at all HTH

I cut very close to the image. I also try to avoid "rocking" my stamps as I press down. Good Luck!

I agree with everyone else. Cut close and don't rock! It really doesn't take much pressure if your stamps are inked well. Good Luck.
