Did you ever forget you own something?
You know what I mean! You buy stamping/scrapbooking stuff "because you cant live without it", then it sits on your craft table, buried underneath something. The only reason you find it again, is because it is next to something that you are currently looking for, then you say "Gee, I forgot I had that". I actually sometimes buy stuff, go to put it away, and there is the same identical item already there. I am beginning to understand more and more, why men are so serious about their toys (tools and electronics). GOTTA HAVE MORE STUFF!!!! Have a great Saturday!

Yep - I just bought Seaside Sketches, and then a few minutes after I entered it and closed the show I realized I already had it, mounted it and it was sitting on my shelf of stamps. Ugh!
A big YES! I just got through going through things and it was like Christmas all over again! Mostly forgot the hostess appreciation sets that I had gotten and were still unmounted, so got to do those, and some retired sets I had ordered in 2003 before the June 2003 book came out!
Then there is the extra pad of Craft ballet blue I found (when I had just swapped with someone to get one) so now I have 2;
There is the bottle of Gold glory that I did the same thing -- ordered it recently and forgot that I had areadly traded with someone so now I have 2 of those;
Let's see -- the bag I opened the other day (my SU black canvas bag) that was literally FULL of adhesive that I had bought on sale and stashed in there when DH came home and shoved in the back of the closet --- yep! Found that too!
I have a HUGE list of things I would like to try. So when I see a new idea, I go out and buy all the stuff to do it and then some how it gets lost in the shuffle and when I find it a few months later, I wonder to myself "way do I have this?". Course then I find a new use for it and then realize after the fact, why I got it in the first place....get where I am going with this!!!
No, not me Noelle :lol: Between the both of us we probably have a trillion duplicate items. Hey why didn't I buy that yard steak today :? Wha'st the dif I spend the 22 bucks today or Mon. :? Well If I go back Mon. Maybe I'll end up buying A few more duplicate items and well I'm sure AC Moore could use a few more of my bucks!!!
Wer'e all a little nutty!!! But isn't is nice being the most creative Mom in your kids class. So what if we always need and want more when we already have everything we could ever need and more at our fingertips!
And thanks to you Noelle for making my signature true (demonstrator of mine). Once again I have been down here all day stampin' and surfin' rather than scrappin' like I should be. But hey If I don't get those hundred and fifty million valentine sucker covers and popcorn covers made for my 5 kids valentine treats for their classmates done how then will I be the most creative mom at their school..?? God forbid us creative stampin' junkies ever send them with store baught valentines :oops: How horrible that would be :oops:
I'm glad I'm not alone in this.....I was thinking maybe my forgetfulness was part of getting older and maybe my brain was asleep. I just found on the floor under some boxes, my alphadots set and it's not mounted yet. I also found six other stamp sets unmounted and in a box. I can't believe it!
I always mount my stamp sets the same day I get them or within a day or two. I've lost my mind!!!!
My DH even thinks I'm sick....he saw the sets sitting on my stamp table after I found them and noticed they weren't mounted....he even felt my forehead to make sure I didn't have a fever.

Oh, please! I can't believe we're even talking about this Of course we all have those doubles and triples (you ladies with quads need to start paying attention, though....do you know how much new stuff you could buy if you didn't keep buying the old stuff over and over again...ha! But I digress...)
You will note my signature tag line - it says it all!
Have a lovely day, ladies, and enjoy counting your multiples :lol:
Susy
:shock: Have you been looking in my piles and piles of stuff?! If so, should you come across my slit punch, could you toss it on the table for me...thanks. :lol:
I know I have waayyy too much stuff and there are several duplicates of things, but I try not to think about it too much or I may have to admit that I don't need to buy any more new things right now. I am a firm believer that 'need' and 'want' are two different things...and there are many more things I want than need.
Ronda
Oh no, I never do that! :oops: Except, when 2 months in a row, I bought 2 copies of the same issue of The Stampers' Sampler. Luckily, I have friends that love when I give them the extras that I buy.

I honestly don't do this . No funny haha. I keep lists of what I have and even lists of consumables and how much I have left. :shock: Yes I am just a little obsessive :!:
I am just like lbarnes I keep lists and it is actually in a composition notebook that I can take with me so I know what I have. I even punch out black cs and paste in my looseleaf section of punches I have. I have also done this with my stamps that are no longer in the current catalog. I highlight stuff that I own in the current catalog. But guess what?? I still manage to find myself buying duplicate stuff!! If I didn't keep track then I would probably have quadrupples of everything!!!
When I started this little hobby, I had a couple of things in a tiny (makes me laugh now) box. This tiny box doesn't hold my extra embellishments now. I've taken over a closet and I'm trying to remain "neat", but I'm stressing every time a new mini comes out because I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!! I "collect".
I'm with the rest of you all. I just have to have it all, all the time. And as one person said that they could open a small store, boy i could. I see it it's mine!
i do this....I do this all the time...luckily for me I have a friend who counts on this and buys the stuff from me minus a Timmy's (tim hortons i.e. i am also a timmy addict) Her hubby looks at it like she is doing me a favor and my hubby works alot... lol

I usually don't because I mark everything I order on my catalog--However..
I must have had a thing about the night of navy stamp pad becase I ordered it three different times! One time i caught it early enough so that my demo could switch it--she rocks! I tried to order it 2 more times, but she reminded me that I have it! This only happened with the night navy, although in my last order, I order a second rose romance pad.....oh, oh :lol: :lol: :oops: :shock: :lol:

Been there, done that! But pleassssssssssse what about when I needed it a 3rd time!!! OMG, stamping is just toooooooooooo much! :lol: Doesn't matter though...I wouldn't trade this joy for anything! And I can always give it to my little stamping buddy...or a stamping friend for her B-Day and know that they will be just so thrilled!

Touch of dyslexia, I think. I like the idea of starting a craft shop with all of our duplicates, kind of like a co-op. But then of course we would all go there and buy someone else's duplicate and come home to find out we had that one too.....
