I really liked this one because it has the elements tucked behind each other, which I definitly don't do often and I don't see often, so I figured it would be fun to play with.

To print this layout: - (nc means no color) If you see a small layout click on it or if you see an icon click on the words next to it.
-When the black surround screen appears click only on the layout and a white screen with the layout should appear.
-Right click and click on print from the pop up box or hold down your shift key and P key at the same time.
-Now you're ready to choose print and it should print to actual size of the card depending on your computer.

Well a sketch challenge is a challenge where you look at the sketch and the card that it was inspired by adn you design your card like it so that the images and elements are similar, but you use your own flavor of stamp set and color pallette.
I just wanted to say I have been lurking through the challenges. I LOVE the challenges.
I fully intend to participate when I get back from Regionals...

Hi Keri ~ I will be the first to admit, I have not understood this concept since day one. I don't get it and I see nothing when I look at sketches. It's been very hard on me and I am definitely amoung the "I don't get it" crowd.
Oh goodie! I'm in! I'll be ready to play tonight when I get home. And I'm looking forward to seeing all the great samples everyone will come up with...

Here is my spin on sketch #3. I needed a birthday sample for the next workshop.
It isn't quite like the inspiration card. It's what came about when I didn't like the cake or balloons on rectangle shapes.
all right, I was not inspired, and it took me all afternoon, but here is what I came up with. It still seems to be lacking something to me. Any suggestions?

Think of the "sketch" as being a formula or layout suggestion, not an actual sketch of something. This term really threw me at first until I actually saw one of the original layout sketches. I thought that people would be actually sketching freehand on cards, LOL!! AndreaSophia (I hope I got that right!) draws a "sketch" of the basic layout or formula that would be nice for the challenge takers to include in their card. You then interpret it anyway you so desire, as you can see by all the fabulous cards being generated by this talented group of women! This is sort of like the first few pages of the old SU! Stampin' Memories catalogs in which they gave a few scrapbook page layout examples. Clear as mud? HTH!!!
I guess this just started with me going through my favorites and noticing all of the different places and ways you can put your image on a card. All of my cards seem to have the same design, a block of stamped images in the middle with a stamped saying in the bottom right. My stuff was starting to look boring to me lol, so I really started paying attention to where other people put their stamped images on the card (called the layout or sketch of the card) and wanted to emulate them, so thus, the "sketch chalellenge" was born! Nothing formal, I just wanted something fun to do for myself and thought others would be intereste din it too.
So basically, you get out whatever paper, embelishments and stamps that you want to use to make a card but you put them on the paper using the "sketch " for the week. So, maybe I was doing the fishy friends set with this week's sketch. I would maybe put a blue strip across the lower section of the card and then stamp a fish on 2 different pieces of cardstock, and then I would tuck them behind the strip like the sketch is laid out.
I hope this is helping clear this up for some people, sorry about the confusion! The goal is just to get out some stamps and play and maybe get out of the rut , like me, of putting my cards together in the same way so they look the same all of the time. No pressure, just play around with it and see how it goes. Its all about having fun with our stamps, which sometimes we forget to do.
Here's my challenge attempt! I hope it downloaded alright...it seems to get stuck downloading and when I stop it and go look in my gallery, it's there. Don't know why it keeps getting stuck in the download process!
I decided to do another submission to this challenge, I just wasn't real pleased with my first one, so using the same bg papers, but different sets and embellishments, I made this one and like it much better.
I'm SOOO not happy with my creations for this challenge. This one really stumped me. Here are the two that I came up with so far. I'm going to try one more time.... they say that third time is a charm. We shall see.
