Welcome to the MMJ's.....If you like messy, texture, mixed media and fun, then you are in the right place. Our challenges aren't intended to take away from what's on this wonderful site, but to give you further inspiration and maybe for those times when you are craving more MM and need a fix.

These challenges started with 2 of us who needed such inspiration during a time when we had lost our mojo. Now there's a little band of us who are playing each month and sharing our different take on some cool MM techniques.







HOW DOES IT WORK.....someone finds 1 or 2 MM videos, shares them and we take inspiration from them for our project. Currently there's 3 of us who have been finding videos, but anyone who wishes to share something, post on this thread and so we can keep a note of who is doing the monthly challenge. The more the merrier.





WHEN IS THE CHALLENGE?.....this is currently a monthly challenge and to allow everyone to still play in all the other SCS challenges.





WHAT DO WE MAKE?.....Whatever you wish. A card, journal/scrapbook page, tag, ATC....whatever you want.





WHEN DO WE POST OUR PROJECT?.....we have been posting on the 15th of each month, however now we have this thread, post whenever you wish. Just make sure you post your project link back here so we can all see it and leave you some love.

The important thing is to have FUN!

I hope to play from time to time. MM is not my usual style but CAS gets old after a while. Subbing for now.

Oh, good, you did it. And now I'm going to make a suggestion, because when there is a lot of chatter, the challenges are going to get lost in the thread.



So my suggestion:

Option 1: Put the title and keyword of each challenge in post 1 with a note as to what post # the challenge in located in.

Option 2: Post a new thread for each challenge.

Option 3: Have a separate thread to post all the challenges with NO CHAT. All chat, including putting in links to your creations remains in this current thread, not the challenge thread. I think this option probably makes the most sense.

Sharon, I popped Jayne's challenge emails into a separate folder in gmail, so I could find them quickly. I do the same thing with Ann's address lists.

Melody I hadn't thought of that for these challenges, but all Alpha stuff is in it's own folder. Melody, I was going to offer to Jayne to do just what you suggested in my post, first one after all hers. I could go in and edit my post each time and list the challenges and posts, and links to the galleries in my post each time. What do you think of that Melody and Jayne?

Sharon that is thoughtful of you, but it may be confusing to remember your post with the links is post number six. Unless you put a link to it in your signature line. That might work.

I'm not sure, but I don't think if you edit a post, we get a notification, only notified for a new post. Or even if we did get a notification, we wouldn't know a post was edited. I was just thinking how Dani used to post the challenge right in the chat thread, and it was so easy to miss it amidst the chatter.

I guess I don’t know about notifications, because I don’t get them. I just go to my subscriptions. And in the Alphabet challenge I go to the first post of that thread every time to copy and paste the keyword.I like Kathys idea of putting it in my sig line. Just a thought. Let’s see what
Jayne wants to do, I was just saying I could do that, but she might like something else.

Thanks ladies for the suggestions. All are good. I was thinking last night when I set it up that I may do it as option 3 of what Melody suggests and similar to what Ann does for the Alpha challenges. I think this thread should be chat only and challenges and projects separately. I’ll fix it up when I can but I do appreciate your input. This is all new to me but makes it easier than emailing as I forget who asked to join in lol.

Kathy so glad that you are here and even if you don’t like MM you may see something that you would like to try on one of your projects..even a small section.

Kathy MM is not my normal thing, Im not very good at it but I’ve enjoyed playing and seeing as I have so many paints, pastes etc, etc I get to use them LoL

I have my paper towels out ready and have just made a very quick cling film BG which is drying. I tried the cling film technique a few weeks ago but they didn’t come out well so I’ve been watching a couple of videos whilst lying down and got some more tips. Hopefully this one will be better...watch this space lol.

I can’t wait to see what you all make with your paper towels. I’ve got 3 ideas I’m going to try.

I’ve made a couple of pieces but my towels are on a jumbo roll so not as thick as some but I’ve done a couple of pieces, one I’m fairly pleased with and had a pleasing result with what I’m trying,I’ve left it drying so I will see how’s its gone tomorrow!

I love mixed media and really want to start doing more of it. Challenges sound like fun.Although, I'm a little confused. There are several challenges posted all on the same day. Are we supposed to do them all now?

Jayne and Nancy started the challenge 4 months ago, so the current challenge is the 4th one. But you can do them as you wish. I have only done the 3rd so far. I'm a late arrival.

Yay, more people to play with!!! I totally love watching MM Videos and am on a mission to get better at it all.
