fixing a warped big shot plate

Hey all! I just recently bought a Big Shot as my cuttlebug finally died, she was a very good machine. So I have already started to warp one of my brand new plates! ughhh It's the pretty ocean color with sparkles

What am I doing wrong? How do I correct it? I watched one youtube video about putting the plates in the oven?! Somehow that just sounds like a recipe for disaster, at least for me. Is there another way??

Sue Ellen, I have done the oven. It didn't really work for me. I flip my plates after every cut, if I can remember. Make one plate only for cutting the blade against and the other for holding the blade in place. I have seen videos were some people label the plates so they know which one goes on the bottom and is cut against, and which is on top. There are a lot of threads here where people are talking about using the quilting product, like you would cut with a rotary cutter, self healing pads, for replacing the plates in the Big Shot or any machine where you cut thin dies. I will look for the thread and post here.

Don't put the plates in the oven. The plates will always warp when you use them; flip them and rotate them top to bottom each time you use them. I just replaced my bottom plate after using it for 2 years. Now my former top plate is the "new bottom plate" and I have a new top plate. I cut dies with the die facing the bottom plate.
