Scrappin' Challenge 2020 Can you believe this is our 12th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?!
We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2019 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2020! Let's keep scrappin'. It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2020! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops... What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process!
Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. *In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us. You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends. Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2020 Scrapbook Challenge!
Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends! We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc20jul"

I got distracted in June with jigsaw puzzles and family vacation, so I only completed 3 layouts, bringing my YTD total up to 48. I'm going to set my July goal at 12 so I can be at 60 layouts by the end of the month.
Lela, just wondering if we're doing a VSBN this month. BTW, I loved the last one where you posted a theme and got us rolling, and then we all chimed in with a challenge. Seemed like a lot less work for you and the participation was great, so feel free to do that again if you don't already have something more structured planned.
Glad for our scrappy group pulling together for another month! I love that we have each other to chat and share our stories with. Also glad you are well Lela, missed you a lot of last month.
For the last couple of days (or maybe more) I haven't been able to actually do anything. I started 2 cards and finally finished one of them. I have lots to do craft wise, just don't feel like I can come up with anything creative. Basically that is why I posted the sketch challenge. A sketch usually gets me going with a page.
My June goal went down in flames - did only 8 pages.
For July, with the mood I seem to be in, I going for 12 pages. I am looking forward to turning this month around with all of you.
YTD=73
July goal=12

Feeling very emotional right now. Kara and family has just boarded a shuttle to Narita Airport for their flight back to the US. Any of you who have the time, please say a prayer for their safety. I am trying to trust in the Lord, but I must admit, it is hard with what all is happening in the US, in the Northwestern part. They have been safe in Japan. I pray for continued safety in Oregon.

I ended June with 25 layouts for the month, thanks to a three day crop. I am not sure what my total is for the year, I will have to go back and add it up as I have not been keeping very good track when I no longer post many layouts.
I will do 15 layouts this month with two done so far.
I pray for safe travels for your family and continued health once they arrive.
I would imagine they will be safest by staying home as much as possible.
Where they moving back here from Japan ? Or were they on holiday. I have to admit I have not kept up with everyone recently to remember all of the back history.
Thanks for your prayer Sharon. They are Navy. His ship is going into dry dock in Portland, Oregon. They have been living on the Military base in Japan but will now have to find a place on their own, no base housing there. They are "stay at home" people. Now, to find a place to live will be a struggle.
They are now in San Francisco with a several hour layover until their flight to Portland. Because it is light outside the kids do not think they need sleep, even though it is way past bed time back in Japan! My poor Kara hasn't had any sleep.

I did have an idea for this month ready ... I was going to use the "list" VSBN we did a few months ago. Seemed like it was fun to choose the products or themes we used
How about August we do another Participation Hostess VSBN

I, too, have been having issues. I got word that the glitches will be fixed by next week hopefully. There are issues in our posts we will have to find ways to work around. I couldn't get links to work. Hopefully, our scrappers will keep looking and actually find the threads! They are there!
I finished my Single Sketch and uploaded it - Rice Krispies by AnniePanda - at Splitcoaststampers

My June total is 8/30. Year total is 131 pages.
For July I'll plan for 10 because I still want to get things scrapped but we're going on vacation next week and there's a lot going on this month. Looking forward to the challenges and VSBN!
I hope you have a safe, happy 4th, or a safe, happy weekend!

Hi everyone...I am around but haven’t done much craft since last week. Lost my mojo and not had time or the energy. I will check out the challenges as I do want to get back into scrapping. Keep safe and well everyone. Sending hugs

Hello everyone! Popping in to wish you a safe haven for the pandemic. We can't let our guard down.
I'm working on projects. I started by collecting various stamps and ideas for starting. My mojo wasn't exactly in gear, and this activity helped. Also, I decided I would not try to plan the perfect card or layout, but to just start "trying" something. I made a few backgrounds that bombed, and I was okay with that. I got going and now have a second background and that will work for my photos I chose. Two decent cards are almost ready, too. Now I am pulling possibilities for embellishments on the l/o. Don't know where I'll end up, but I'm enjoying the trip along the way.
Update: all my Littles are in Portland, OR looking for a home to rent!

Portland seems to be hot bed of hatred and violence, no respect for anyone's property, I don't know how they feel about following the safest precautions to fight the vial threat. My family was safer in Japan because there the people stood together to fight the virus, not each other.

Joyce Ann glad they arrived back home safely. Yes they would be safer in Japan right now.
Thinking of you all and agree...no one should become complacent. This virus is still out there and look at what is happening over here in Melbourne. They are all back in lockdown for 6 weeks due to selfish actions of a few people and now the virus is out there again. People are so selfish and silly sometimes and think they are immune. I just find it so irresponsible.
Sharon, are you ok after your fall? I’ll pm you later about the MM challenge.
I need to get back to scrapping. I have cards overflowing in my craft room and must mail some out.
Big hugs to you all.

Hello everyone...just checking in. Lots going on in my world. My furlough time ended and I got called back to work, but decided to pull the plug and just retire! My husband has a good paying job and with everything going on and with the unrealistic expectations at work I decided it just wasn't worth the insurance, so we went on his plan.
We got our lake house finished. I had to put my two little dogs down, so now I have pulled up on the flooring upstairs in my house and painting and preparing for new floors here. Not planning on moving full time to the lake house anytime soon, but my 1970s house needs more updating for when that time does come, so I am getting some things done.
So with all of that June saw ONE page completed and July isn't looking too much better.
But, August is promising!!!
Amy, congrats on retiring, even though it sounds like you will be just as busy doing home improvements as you were working! Hopefully you will get your three layouts done for July and be able to increase your goal in August.
Can you join this anytime do I have to wait for August?
Sorry if there is a thread I need to read, please let me know.
My goal for July is
40 layouts. I already completed 22 over the 4th of July weekend. It was so much fun to dig in and get some stuff done. I plan on doing Club Scrap layouts (I just rejoined this past month after 16 years away) LOL
Thanks in advance for any help!
Welcome Laura....you can join in anytime. The ladies on here are very welcoming and supportive. Happy scrapping

Congratulations Amy on retiring...you won’t know yourself and will end up asking your DH every day...how did we find time to work LOL. I think this time is a special part of our journey. Enjoy it all. Keep safe and well.
