I know that with the Covid-19 going on for months now that many of you are cleaning up, clearing out, and purging your crafting supplies that you no longer need or want. So, I am again offering up a win-win suggestion. "The You Matter Project".
A little back story for those of you who don't already know... I am the founder of "The You Matter" card project here in upstate NY. Originally, I started out making cards for just abused women and children. Up until 2014 - 2015, I had made most of the cards myself and personally supplied the few supplies we had. Then in July of 2015, "The You Matter Project" was honored to be the featured group for SplitCoast Stampers "Cards for a Cause". To our delight, we received a whopping 982 beautiful handmade cards from generous crafter's all over the world! That lead to several SCS members prompting me to open a thread here as a place for fellow SCS members to send their purged and de-stashed items to assist with "The You Matter Project". The initial thread ran from January 2016 thru May 2018. (I had asked the mods. to close the thread since I had some major health related things come up and needed to focus on that.) Then I was asked if we were interested in having "The You Matter Project" featured again this year in March! To our delight, we received a grand total of 627 lovely handmade cards! Over the last year we have opened the project to assist and include many other folks too. This includes, but not limited to: Those who are abused/bullied, those who live alone and don't have family or friends around or feel forgotten (like veterans), people who are feeling the isolation and any type of loss as a result of Covid-19 such as children who are now being taught from home and are missing their friends, teachers who need "kit packs" to help stretch their "Art courses" or Special Needs individuals who need something to help them with fine motor skills, etc.
As you can see, the interest of those we help is ever increasing. All donations for the "You Matter Project" will be used for the storage of and/or making of cards/card kits by and for those who are helped by the project. I have rooms specifically dedicated for items that people graciously donate for the "You Matter Project". Sometimes the items will be used in the form of group classes and sometimes they will simply be used by a single person or two who just needs a quite safe place to express their emotions through art. (NOTE: With the current Covid-19 pandemic and the safety of the people we serve, we are not doing classes or open for folks to come into the workrooms at this time. Instead, we are sending cards out and making up card kit packets.)
Due to the limited financial situations of most of those that are helped by our project, and because of what we are trying to do with the project by empowering people, we do NOT charge anything to those who use the items, kits or that request cards to be sent. So, again I am humbly asking all of you to PLEASE help us build our stash with your unwanted and extra items. I know that anything you could send to the project, no matter how small you think it is, would mean the world to those we serve.
Thank you for your consideration to Pay-It-Forward for a wonderful project! For those of you wanting to send donations of cards/card fronts, envelopes, card stock/dsp, de-stash items, etc. to help "The you Matter Project", here is the address you can send them to:

You are FABULOUS. Thank you for all you're doing to love on those that are in the midst of their own, personal "thunderstorms", no matter the origin. NO MAN IS AN ISLAND.
Anyway, I'm actually shoulder-deep in my craft room purge now. I have various papercrafting tools. e.g. MS scoreboard, cutting mat, etc. etc. etc. Do I send parcels to the address (PO Box) above as well?
Christi, I am so happy to hear from you! So glad this project is still going strong. I have cleared some stuff out, but I have lots more to spare so I'll get you a box packed and on it's way. I'll send you a PM when its postal. This update makes my heart happy!!

Yes, all items need to be sent to our P.O. Box. The Post Office knows our project well.
Thank you Bonnie Klasell for the medium priority box filled with inks, stamps, and paper smooches!! Your kindness will go a long way in helping us prepare kits for those served by The You Matter Project. (And yes, it does spread a lot of joy and happiness, so it's a Happiness Project too!)
Hi Christi----- Can you use the Stampin' Up! plastic rubber stamp containers the wood mounted sets come in? For storage or whatever-the-heck else? Thought I'd ask first! : )

I'm looking forward to sending a box your way, but hesitate to even mention it. That's because it always ends up taking me forever and a day to mail packages! Thanks so much for posting this though. It's always so much easier to destash and let things go when you know they'll be going somewhere they'll get used or at least appreciated. lol
Just checking to see that you received the box I sent. The tracking shows that it has been delivered, and I want to make sure that it was delivered to the correct address. I hope it arrived safely and that you can use the items. Keep up the good work!

We have had a few more individuals who have asked us for "Interactive Card Kits". While we are working on putting some more "Shaker Card Kits" together, we are now looking for...
1.) Pivot Pop-Up dies (I think that's what it's called.)
2.) Picture Changer dies
Does anyone have extra's of these or would be willing to die cut us some of each on white cardstock?
Also, the "hinge thingies" for slider cards and wiper cards??? Anyone???
