Welcome to Watercolour Wednesday. Today We would like to share with you another technique that I am sure you will all find useful. That is "Blending". Blending plays a large roll in watercolour, and the more you blend, the easier it will be. In other words, practice!
We have the following video to share today, where the artist is painting a Monstera Leaf. I love these leaves, for the area they give to blend. Since we are showing this video I also have leaves that you can download and if you have graphite, you can trace, otherwise do it the old school way, which is to clip your watercolour paper over the printed image and hold it up to the window to trace. And of course, use a light table if you have that. The leaves are below, click on the leaf you want to use and download it before resizing. These are copyright free leaves. Do not download the green leaves, they are for reference only.
If you do not want to do the Monstera Leaf, please pick a large image from your collection where you get lots of room to blend. A large flower, or other leaves will work. And, most important, have fun!

Kia - oh I love these leaves! They are very popular locally here in Miami! I had to improvise with the only leaves I could find (no stamps or printer here!) and enjoyed this process!
I'll be getting to this SOON! I finished the last lesson the other day, but my lamp is acting up for pictures! My SWEET HUBBY is going to try to pick up a lamp today while he is out. A SUPER VIDEO, Kia!!! CAN'T WAIT to try this one!!! LOVE those leaves!!! ;)<3

My daughter & grandsons have departed after a whirlwind visit so I am playing catch-up on the water color challenge . . . hope I've at least gotten close to what we were meant to do. I truly feel like I'm floundering in the dark with these techniques . . . a hands on class with a teacher hovering to give suggestion would probably be easier than online learning of this medium !
Wow, what a great challenge! I hope it was OK that I did not use the leaf image but I did blend the flowers, leaves and background on this card (also used some cross hatching type coloring on the background), again, hope that was OK to add to this challenge :-)
