We have a video this week for you from Lydia showing steps to do this technique. I do love this songbird she did.
I am using Distress Ink Antique Linen to stamp my image which is used by many artists I have watched doing this technique online. I didn't have the ink Lydia used. I stamped my image lightly and began to watercolor with my brush. The color you stamped with will begin to take on the color you are using to paint the image. I think it gives a pretty handpainted look.
If Lydia's video doesn't work for some reason, there is also a good tutorial here on SCS for the technique. If this link doesn't work, go to tutorials, type in No Line Watercolor. I found it to be about 5-6 tutorials down.
O.K., let's just have fun!

This is going to be a challenge for me. But I am up to it! Can't wait to try this but it is going to take me a few days - lol!

The true test of any challenge for me is will I actually SEND this card to someone or will it languish in a box. I am happy enough with the look I got here to send this right out to my niece!
I think the reason I don't color my images as much as doing exploratory backgrounds, is that it forces me to stay focused longer on one thing. I am a bing-bing-bing kind of gal, who likes to change processes every 6 minutes. Thanks for giving me therapy..... Gallery at Splitcoaststampers by Lori "Artzadoni"
I enjoyed doing it but it stretched me for sure!!!!!! fun! Hugz
