Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge -- the more, the merrier! You automatically become a "TEApotter" the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something about the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement, but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun?
This week's challenge hostess is: casep/Pat
CHALLENGE: Our recipient this week is very active, so my challenge is to use a moving part on your card. It can be as simple as a folding flap or can be as complicated as using dies and tabs for paper engineering.
This week's teaparty was requested by Colleen, katchoo1 here on SCS, for her mom, Sandy. Colleen hope that some warm fuzzies from fellow cardmakers will help east Sandy's grief as the first anniversary of her husband's death approaches (June 26.) They were married for 53 years, so naturally Sandy misses him terribly. Colleen suggests simple "thinking of you" and cheerul cards. Please no sympathy or sorry for your loss cards. Sandy is Catholic and would also enjoy both spiritual and secular messages.
Sandy is also a cardmaker. She has macular degeneration, but is still able to stamp and make cards for her kids and grandkids, although she has to have very bright lights and get close to her work. She is aware of Splitcoaststampers, but doesn't get online to look at it much.
Sandy is very active with walking and exercise classes and she still golfs and skis. She even went on an over-70 group ski trip to Utah this year and had a blast!

I was thinking of the flip flap card, but now I see the write-up I've moved away from golf to another stamp. Just have to work out how to incorporate movement. I think that an action wobble would be too challenging for me this week, so it probably will be just s simple flap.
I checked out this challenge on Tuesday - and my mind came up a total blank . . .Came back to it today with no better luck - so since I just completed 6 "Get Moving themed" cards for the May DD, I will send one to Sandy from my growing stash . . .

My brain was not in gear for a fold or motion card unfortunately and I don't have anything exercise wise either, lol. So I took my inspiration from sending a cheerful card. I will pop this in the mail as soon as I get the reply about the postal code. Having a 0 in front seemed odd to me, but what do I know, lol.
Here's mine Ladybird Ladybird Slider struggled with the slider aspect but got there in the end. There are a few typos in the write up but I don't dare fix them, so I'm just going to have to live with them.
Colleen aka katchoo1 if you could PM me or something just to let me know if the card arrived in one piece, I'm not sure how it's going to travel. I'm posting it in a couple of hours so it should turn up in about eight weeks
Just confirming if Sandy's postal code is with a 0? 08226?
Thanks Shirl
Anyone?
Shirl
Hi Shirl, yes, the postal code for Ocean City NJ does start with a "0". Seems like a lot of our US postal codes for NE cities start with 0. I guess our Post Office had to start someplace...lol!! There are also postal codes for Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, etc., that start with 0.
HTH!!

Ps...I did change it slightly and am happier with it. The updated version is now in my gallery. We are our own worst critics.

I think the gallery this week is just FANTASTIC! What a great collection of cards with moving parts! Thanks to all for participating. I know movement cards can be tricky!

I'll pop this in the mail tomorrow, Pat. Your challenge for moving parts is an awesome way to send smiles to one who's sad. Thank you. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers 90 by Lori "Artzadoni"
I'm laughing at myself...here is the card I made for Sandy...what's funny is that I already made and mailed a card to her...so she is getting 2 from me now!
I just hadn't posted the card to this thread, that must be why the thread was still open on my computer, not because I hadn't made and sent one already!!!!
Or maybe I'm just very confused and there were 2 Sandy's...Moving forward to today...its VSN weekend and that's very important to remember this afternoon.
I made a more cheerful card for Sandy and will get it out into tomorrows mail. This involved the movement of a brayer, to make the background, but the card doesn't move. But I think it is cheerful. Thank you. TLC801, MMTPT621 For Sandy sm by smadson - at Splitcoaststampers
