WT795 ~ A Clean Start ~ {06/04/2020}
It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week - this was meant to be me slipping in before we headed off to France for a camping holiday. Sigh, not this year. We've all been keeping things extra-clean recently, so maybe my original title of "A Clean Start" is not so appropriate, but it's punchy so I'm sticking with it. Maybe I should have re-titled it Clean as You Go! Today's challenge is to get that bleach out (if you still have some left) and use it on your cards. I've also linked a couple of Faux Bleach techniques just in case you don't have any. Foxy OxiStamping with BleachBleached-Out ImagesRainbow Craft
Alcohol Ink Faux BleachColourless Blender BleachingAnd you may have your own favourite use. Personally, since I have rarely had cardstock that bleaches well, consistently or reliably, my favourite way to use it is to sponge a background with distress or DOX inks, and then use bleach to lift the colour - either as splatters, or from a stamped and heat-embossed image. This works well with Brusho backgrounds, too. See Step 6 in Dina's tutorial on Watercolour PowdersShare the details if you've done something different, so we can try it too! Once you've created your card for this challenge, upload it (if you've used any of the linked tutorials, it's great for the community if you upload to the relevant gallery. Choose Technique Spotlight from the first dropdown, and the technique from the second. I love browsing those technique galleries for inspiration) with the keyword WT795, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card . Here's a link to our WT795 A Clean Start gallery Here are my samples: WT795 Lavender Birthday (Foxy Oxi background) WT795 Simply Peonies (sorry for the not great photo. DH was working late last night and taking up my photo spot. I used bleach to lift the colour in the background parts of the image, which was stamped on a shaving foam with Brushos background from Monday) If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE. And as always, my thanks to the team for their squeaky-clean sparkling creations to inspire you: Lisa's and Cathy's are attached here.

I also have two beautiful samples from Carla and Toni which I'm attaching in this thread, because there has been a problem with some attachments going AWOL when editing posts.

I'll be along after work to comment. Carla, in impressed! I still haven't got a good result, I'm glad to learn I'm not the only one who has struggled with it.

Sabrina this is a good challenge, however I did not have any bleach, so I used white liquid pearls on my card.
The blender did not work either, liquid pearls to the rescue!!

An fyi, if you're stamping with bleach and uploading to that gallery, search under 'bleach', not 'stamping with bleach'. Sometimes I can't find techniques because they're named a bit differently.

Reworked an old alcohol ink/lift off panel. I was pleasantly surprised to get a decent result with re-stamping it after a year!!! WT795 Ghostly Fall Leaves. Stamp and stamp off multiple times to get a good result. Now I've got to do something with the stamped off panels!

Sorry, it's been one of those days. Before, even when life was busy, I had the commute to and from work to keep up to date here. I can't exactly do that from a bicycle. I will be along tomorrow or late this evening.
