In my search for interesting inspirations for the Mixabilty challenge, I asked a relative who has degrees in art to introduce me to some artists that were not on my radar. I can say with confidence that today’s challenge features a truly unique artist. He is Viennese artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Hundrert who?? It’s a mouthful, right? He was born Friedrich Stowasser and is known for his boldly-colored paintings and his individual architectural designs. These designs used unique forms, and incorporated natural features of the landscape. He utilized irregular shapes, rejected straight lines, and was fascinated by spirals. For more information on Hundertwasser see this website…there are hundreds of paintings and buildings featuring his artful design.
Challenge: Make a project based on the attached examples or one on the website. Use bright , bold colors, curved lines, checkerboard type designs…have fun!
Remember to use two or more mediums on your card. See a list of suggested materials here.
That looks like super-fun, Polly. Bummer that I'm in the office today so I won't be home till late afternoon. But that will give me time to think, because the problem isn't going to be being inspired, it'll be making a card I'd like to send. A couple of the architectural ones are a bit like a jigsaw puzzle I just ordered. I've been wanting to use my TH cityscape dies, so it's either that or the "lollipop" trees.
ohhh WOW!! thank you for introducing this artist! Mr. Hundred water aus Englisch. Fascinating work, this looks like a great challenge. ok, it may take me a while today, but count me in!!!

DH was listening to me rabbit on about the comments on my cards...thanks ladies...I was saying that I always get the most comments on my cards that are simple and take me no time lol.
He says how impressed he was with my crazy animal one, so I am telling him how that came about and the challenge. He looks at me and says, are you for real lol. I am thinking what is he on about. He reminds me of our NZ trip end of last year where we went to a town where Hundert Who art is in the toilets. It was as though a lightbulb had gone off in my brain lol. I'm saying..I remember those but could not remember who the guy was other than he had a very long name lol. I also was telling him how the photos Polly posted reminded me of NZ but I could not think why. He says I am a worry and do you not remember peeing in his loo...lol.
If anyone is interested in checking out my photos here is the link....I cannot believe I had forgotten these.

Jayne!!!! OMG this is hysterical! I can't believe you visited the Hundertwasser toilets! I did know that he ended up in New Zealand but I had no idea his designs included funky rest rooms! Your DH comments made me laugh, too....no wonder his paintings reminded you of your NZ trip :lolo::lolo: The photos are amazing....and to think you had to honor of "peeing in his loo"....:lolo::lolo: It all just cracks me up ....your story telling and the photo evidence of his toilet designs!! TFS!
