Happy New Year!! I hope you will join me again this year pulling out and giving love to those "forgotten" stamps, dies, embellishments and paper!
This is the easiest challenge forum to join :-) We love seeing what you create with your unused paper crafting supplies, so please add the keyword USEIT2020 to your gallery post, and if you have time, link here in this forum as well so we can admire your artwork...
Thanks for joining in with us and we are looking forward to seeing your artwork in 2020- hugs!!
Yeah I am so happy to join the 2020 challenge again Julie. I had a ton of fun trying to use up the pile of craft supplies on my table this year and look forward to finishing using it. I started with 3 boxes and was given a 4th box of stuff to use up. Well I am happy to say I got it down to 1.5 boxes of supplies and hope to finish using it next year.
I can't wait to see what supplies others are using in 2020. Happy New Year!
I used discontinued DSP and enamel dots from my stash. I guess the stamp set is now on hold or retired since it was in the Holiday Catalog. Thanks for Looking! And Thank You Julie for keeping this challenge going! It does remind and encourage me to use up my supplies that seem to accumulate as I buy new things. LOL!
Though this is 2020, I am entering it in 2019 because it was finished in 2019, but I couldn't find time to get it uploaded.
My oldies are the Snow Burst Embossing folder retired by Stampin' Up at the close of the catalog in January 2012 and the Finishing Touches Edger dies (pinked edging)! My new stuff is the "Lots of Cheer" Christmas stamp, which I bought after the Stampin' Up annual catalog came out in June, 2019, but I didn't get started finishing my Christmas cards until late October, November, and December!
Here is my first card this year using a teacup that was already die cut sitting in the box. I need to grab a picture of the box of items I am trying to use so you can see where I am this year. I will try to do that the next time I have my camera out in the craft cave.
Thanks for getting this started Julie...I decided I needed to do some of the "USE IT" accountability...at least accountable to myself. I know Lisa-Shoe Girl has had amazing results. So here's my first USEIT card..I got out some colored vellum, a stamp I haven't used in ages, and .....wait for it....decorative scissors!
I can't wait to get started on this thread. I have been battling sinus issues and I am watching the minutes until I can leave for my doctor's appt. I think I need antibiotics - the OTC stuff just isn't cutting it. I'm tired of the sleepless nights of not being able to breathe and my face, actually my whole head, hurts and Tylenol doesn't help. This came on me quickly and as a shock as I haven't had this crud in many years. Hope everyone is staying well. Great job ladies. Hope to join the fun soon.
Welcome CraftyJanis- so thrilled that you found us!!
This easel card drawer box was designed with several stamps that I have not used in a while along with retired designer series paper and a silver brad.
Your card is gorgeous Sally! Thrilled to see you use the rub-ons- I have many SU! packs that are at least 10 years old (most likely older since time flies, lol!) and have not used them in years. Now you have me a bit concerned that they will not transfer.
Not sure of any suggestions to help them transfer though- anyone else?
Also, you are not alone in having more retired stash than current. I have tons of retired "stuff" since I never really sold much as a SU demo (had to make my own minimums). I still buy a bit of new, but much less than before :-)
Hugs and thanks for sharing your beautiful card with all of us!
My hubby and I celebrated our 37th Anniversary today and for his card I used Sense of Time and Script (both retired SU) along with retired SU DSP (Mocha Morning), Gold Trim, Nuvo Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse (I have had this over a year and it has dried up but I was able to add water to rub it on the dsp, clock face, etc).
After getting antibiotics, my sinus infection is much better and I have been feeling like crafting. I have made 14 cards the last 3 days from using pre-stamped images and using my stash. I decided that some of the stamped images (from swaps) are not my style or something I will use so if the back is clean and usable I will be using these white cardstock pieces to put inside my cards for sentiments. I frequently use unwanted printed paper with white on back side for the same. Here are my cards:
Amy, love your cards. I love the tab and button accents. Thanks for the idea - I must try to incorporate into more of my cards. It's another way to use up my buttons. TFS
Hello there! I am still fairly new to Splitcoast (joined about 1 year ago!), but my goal this year is to participate in this challenge more than any other. I plan to reach for those scraps first for almost all of the cards that I make this year...so thank you for the inspiration and accountability with this challenge.
Thanks for starting this challenge again this year Julie. It really has helped me to make a conscious effort to use stuff that I bought and then never used (or stuff I haven’t used for quite awhie). Happy to join the challenge again this year.
I have made 12 more cards and I am really seeing a reduction in my winter/Christmas embellishment stash as well as the paper stash. I started this month with using only what was in a stack on top of 2 totes which I hope to use up this year. I hope to keep up the momentum thru out the year. I might also include that I have decorated and finished the insides of the cards and decorated envelopes to go with each. I find that having the process complete makes the process of using/sending cards much easier as I just sign, address and mail.
Here's one for today...I may have more later..I used a bg stamp that hasn't seen ink in more than a year and some ribbon that I bought years and years ago.
