Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
It's the last Tuesday of the month so that means it's time for our Teapot Tuesday Tickle Challenge.
This week's challenge is brought to you by guest hostess:
One4Joy - Susan
Joyful Greetings, Teapotters! I am very excited to be hosting our April swap. My theme is an art history adventure. So buckle your seat belts, we are time traveling back to 18th century England to meet the woman credited with inventing mixed media collage.
And truth be told, Mrs Delany didn't begin until she was 72! During the next 10 years, Mary Delany created 985 botanically precise flower 'mosaicks'. Here is an article from Later Bloomers which has a concise introduction to Mrs Delany. In addition, there is a 76 second video featuring her work set to music. My challenge to you is to create a flower 'mosaick' in your unique style. Are you a purist, stamping only, a doodler, watercolorist, sketcher, 'tangler, or as Mary a collagist? No matter the medium, please have fun and bring it to our gallery. Be encouraged no matter your age: Art feeds the creative in all of us!
EPEC(extra points for extra cookies): use ribbon
There are several books on Mrs Delany if you would like to explore further. I'll link them in my card. I can't wait to see what grows in the gallery this week.
SEND CARDS TO: This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other!
Check out THIS NEW THREAD in the TEApot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions. Make sure to sign up by bedtime on Saturday 2nd May 2020. Your destination recipient will be PM'd to you.

Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT614 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to jacqueline via PM or e-mail [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.
Here's the video Susan mentioned...I did have it embedded in the challenge post, but with the ongoing site issues I lost it when I added the link to Susan's card, and after fifteen minutes trying to get it back, I decided it was easier to make another post. Having seen it, DH is disappointed that my card doesn't look like any of the flowers here .
And here's the wrapping paper from the birthday gift my sister sent me. It's a textile design from the V&A museum - I'll come back and edit when I find the little strip of paper with the designer's name. Joseph somebody...
ETA - not Joseph at all: William Kilburn, an illustrator, designer and fabric printer who was the chief petitioner in March 1787, requesting Parliament for design copyright protection in the textile industry. Nothing new about design theft!
Love the challenge Susan. I’m debating whether to participate as I heard that our mail to overseas is now going by sea...eek. I don’t think my card from last month has reached its destination yet and I haven't received one......not that it matters when it arrives. Let me put my thinking cap on. Love what everyone is making.

I heard that too. Made me think of the "old" days when there really was a difference between air mail and surface - and then somewhere along the way it all became air.
You can make a card for the challenge and not take part in the swap - though I'm sure any of us would think it was worth waiting for one of your creations. The worry is when they get lost - it took almost 3 weeks for a card I sent to reach Texas, which is about two weeks slower than all the other cards I mailed the same week.

I agree that getting a card, no matter how long the wait, is always worth it! It's just one more thing in our lives that we need to adjust. I would hate for someone not to play because things are moving slower.
Especially in this amazing challenge. I can't decide if Mary's flowers have inspired me or if I'm going to sit here, stare at all my stuff and decide to give up before I even try! Her art is so beautiful!
What a wonderful challenge...so much inspiration in Mary Delaney's art. It was fun to learn about her. I have to say, too , that the gallery is totally amazing this week!! Thank you Susan!
I am in for this challenge. My BG is drying and tomorrow I hope to finish my card. I’ve been having fun paper piecing for hours lol. Happy day

Wow, I loved reading that story of Mary and watching the video. She was amazing and makes me feel stronger today. How wonderful she found such great friends and counter-parts in a time when women and older, poorer, people were probably discounted much more than today. She must have been a very good friend and delightful company! Fun, fun, fun!

Thanks, Susan & Sabrina! It was a fun project today and I must thank another master, Marge, an old neighbor and fussy cut queen. MMTPT614 Delaney & Marge by Lori "Artzadoni"

Thank you Susan for an inspiring challenge. I loved reading about Mary and seeing her beautiful creations. Here's my card, MMTPT614 Hydrangeas and Day Lilies.
Thank you Sabrina for keeping the Tickle a Teapotter challenge going.
