Editor Issues - Upgrade coming 11/?

That was one of them, but when I would try to edit it, those details were not there.  

I keep refreshing and hoping it'll be gone when I look.

Happens to me too this afternoon.  It was fine this morning but there was some issue with SCS after that and I could not log on.  Now, there are some funky issues, but I am sure that Lydia will check it out.............................

Something's also happened to several people's avatars-- they've been replaced by a question mark.

And some of the icons for posts are broken-- maple leaf, BCRibbon, and "a little birdie told me."  Showing up with icon name and broken page image.  Heart and palette also broken.

Same problems as others.

But as an extra, almost all the smiley links are broken.

It seems to me  that the HTML and WYSIWYG views are partially inverted, because in order to get links to format in post preview I am having to click on that little AA icon.

It's also impossible for me to add thumbnails in a post.

Same here. All posting in the forum shows you HTML instead of WYSIWYG. It also only shows you code when writing a post for the challenges. I know most hostesses cannot read HTML so that's going to be a big problem. Some functions don't work, either. Size doesn't work, font selection is gone, paperclip is not functioning, unable to add thumbnails or attachments. Some other editing functions don't work. I tried to edit my signature & it will not save the edit. It reverts back every time. 

I also heard from another FS Hostess, Nancy (nwilliams6) that she is locked out of SCS now & her passwords to get in are not working.

Same thing, a couple of us from the Looking for Some Minnesotans thread have had issues posting in the forum....it adds all the extra gobble-de-gook, but when you go to edit, there's nothing there but regular typing... ??

I have a ticket for broken thread icons, but I just created a post and don't see HTML and I don't have any issues attaching photos - can someone give me step by step with screenshots along with your browser and device?

Lydia, I had the same problem with a PM. I tried to attach photos she had requested. Her message showed up with all the HTML code, and my reply to her (in the end) had code as well, with no images visible. But, as shown below, in the Quick Reply box when I checked the message I'd sent--that was in my Sent Messages folder--the images showed up there. Clear as mud? I hope this helps--only took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to make the images show up in this message!

I had the Teapot Tuesday challenge in the Staging gallery for several days, it was fine. Yesterday prior to moving the challenge to go 'live', I clicked on GO AVANCED, then PREVIEW POST, so I could make sure links worked and i wanted to add my card and title

It's one I wrote 8/18/19. All I see when I click "edit" is HTML. I clicked "go advanced". I still see only HTML. I click the little "A" button in upper right to switch between WYSIWYG & HTML. All I see is HTML.  Most of the function buttons on top (size, font, paperclip) do not work. Nothing comes up when you click them.  And I don't have the ability to manage attachments or even attach them.

Sorry, I took screenshots, but since the paperclip is not working here, either, I have no way to attach them.

In general links are not autoformatting. I'm only able to get them to do that by toggling the editor mode. For some people, pasting links as they normally do, they are not even becoming hyperlinks.

For example, see this thread and post #13. And Jean's comment in post 14. MMTPT600 - January 21, 2020 - Splitcoaststampers

Linda's post #16 was the same, but by editing AND toggling the editor mode, I can convert the link.

I can only make this link clickable by toggling the editor mode : roll:.

I just edited a post I did yesterday that included a link to a gallery post. The post originally showed all the html script, and every time I tried to fix it yesterday, it got worse! When I edited it today, I clicked on the A in the corner of the editor, and it showed the URL for the link. When I saved, the post looked normal and the link worked.

I am trying to attach a .doc and .pdf registration file.  The "paperclip" icon isn't working in "go advanced" editing.  (Also did not work when I originally created post.)

I see that Julie mentioned this but I am adding a screen shot just in case you need it.

When we write up a Challenge Post the "Manage Attachments" button is missing so we are unable to attach photos to the bottom of our posts.

For me so far I've only ecountered it in preexisting posts I've edited...the WT was a nightmare yesterday. I nearly didn't bother going back into it to add the keyword. I haven't noticed it in the gallery mod thread, for anyone. But I did get a pm yesterday that was impossible to read, with all the code interspersed in the text. 

It's possible that previewing a post might be one trigger? But not in this thread, apparently.

I started another thread in this forum yesterday because it was a different issue than was being discussed here, but it seems to be related to the upgrade and there hasn't been a response to the other thread, so I'll try here.

I tried to post a thread in the buy/sell forum and got an error message that I had 216 images in my post and the limit is 50. "Please correct the problem and try again", it said. The problem is that there is not a single image in the post! Not even an emoji...

I don't know how to "correct the problem" - thoughts?

Yes - that's in the fix that's coming - none of those tools work.

Ummmm that's weird. Can you paste the contents of the post into a .txt file and send it to me? Were you pasting from somewhere else?

Lydia--this is what a post in the swap forum looked like after I "tried" to make an edit.  Everything was fine before I edited.

And, I just edited another thread in the swap forum and there are no issues.............................  go figure!

I am trying to post for the F4A Challenge.  Everything I typed in (after I started new thread)  was in html code.  I deleted it.  Is there something else I can do to get this posted?

P.S.  I went back and tried to post it again.  I still get the HTML coding.  I left it this time so you can see what it is doing.

Yes, I was pasting from a Word file. I pasted an abbreviated version of the text into a pm to you and (of course) got all of the gobbledy-gook. I would have attached the text file, but I didn't have a "manage attachments" button that I could see... Let me know what else I should try to assist you with this, and thanks for attempting to troubleshoot!

In this case it's probably only a side issue, but we are always advised not to copy and paste from Word as it inevitably adds extra junk coding which is not visible but can end up causing problems. A text editor is recommended: I use Notepad on the PC and Colornote on Android, I know there's an iOs equivalent.

Lydia, if you take a look at today's Free 4 All challenge post it is all HTML. It appears all posts where a link is added is showing HTML.

Yes, Sabrina...the iOS equivalent is Notes.  I used it all the time & keep my frequent links there. Yes, please DON't use Word to copy & paste.

Yeah - Sabrina is right - never, never, never paste from word - even without this current bug it breaks things.

We have what we need and it should be fixed next week when we apply a new patch. Thank you so much!

I am not pasting from anywhere, just trying to edit an existing post (with attachments -  the RAK threads).  Since I can't add new attachments either I haven't submitted any changes.

However, I also get the html when I try to write a new PM.  If I preview twice, it seems to "fix" it in the preview, but when I look in my sent folder afterwards, the html is there.  All the PMs I received lately have the html codes too.
