Default Lawn Fawn Ruler

Does anyone have any tips on how to make the numbers and markings on the Lawn Fawn ruler easier to read? The concept is great but I am finding I cannot read the markings because they are white on a clear ruler. I can only see them when using dark colored cardstock. Thanks!

I had issues reading my trimmer ruler so I took a piece of yellow frog tape and cut it the length of the ruler and about 1/4" wide and taped underneath the measurements.

That ruler is made here in Missouri! Kourtney has a video here showing how to black in the numbers.

I am so glad you asked this! Man I LOVE that ruler!! I went a searchin' and I cant find anything like it-clear or metal. I love that all the measures are actually on there. Maybe that makes me lazy but I can use all the help I can get! But yes, white on clear is not easy. I want to trade in for the TH center ruler I have.

I was going to suggest something like that-the way TH uses it to fill in on his shifter stencils.
Do we think there is something about the Wakely paint vs the liquitex I have in the house to do that fill-in trick? Any acrylic paint should work right?

I think any acrylic paint should work.

I'm so disappointed in the TH ruler - I ruined one (which they replaced, I think - it's been a while) when I cleaned it with some kind of solvent and the grid wiped off... The other one is all chipped on the edge and the metal strip has fallen out.

I know what you mean Dina! I love Tims ruler, but the grid wiped off when I cleaned it with alcohol to get the sticky stuff off. I bought a second and have been careful not to use alcohol on it. I just put yellow frog tape on the back so I can read the numbers better.

I used back acrylic paint on my tonic guillotine cutter because those numbers were hard to read on the orange background.

Oh good. Thanks Dina!

Gee I have that cutter Kathy-I will do it on that too!

I ordered the ruler today over in Missouri along with some other bits. So weird for me...i NEVER buy anything not on good sale. First time in years but I am excited to get the ruler.

Thanks for the video link Dina. I did notice they are made in Missouri - not far from my home town as a matter of fact. I live in Ohio now, but Missouri is where I am originally from and most of my family live there still. My plan is to retire there eventually. Oh . . . . and GO CHIEFS!!!!!

Yay!! Yes, about 1:15 from me here at the lake... and yet I still have not been up there! I need to drive up one of these days.
