Happy Thursday to you all. It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week - and I want you to use wax in some way on your creations today. It can be wax crayons, waxed paper... I'm sorry if the challenge is a bit messier looking than usual - as of when I went to bed last night, the site bugs were still not resolved. So unfortunately I am also unable to add the samples, and I'll post mine in a separate post to avoid any issues with this one. My thanks go to Lisa and Carla - I'm sure you will be inspired by their creations.
I made two samples - one using the crayon rubbed embossing, and then after work yesterday I got home in time to try my own makeshift version of the melted crayon background. I have so many crayons, having bought several packs over the years in the quest for a good white to use for resist techniques. In the end, my answer was a colourless stick from Colourcraft, the manufacturers of Brusho.
Thanks for the fun challenge, Sabrina. Here's my sample, WT776 The Stars are Out. I love the Melted Crayon Background technique. It's magic to watch the patterns and colors appear on the paper!!
i've been wanting to try this tech. and i was looking to do something different so your challenge was very timely haha. If only i'd known how simple it is to start with i would've braved it long ago. now to spend hours of improving lol. thx
Oh man. I didn't pack any crayons! Can't wait to play along when I get home tomorrow. Got stuck here in Dayton for an extra night after getting hit with a stomach bug. Just starting to feel a little better--"see" you all tomorrow!
Hi - Here's another one using distress crayons. I found this technique last week, and definitely wanted to try! Super easy and fun, I may need to get more distress crayons! I *had* been struggling to find ways to use the crayons, LOL.
Here's the card IC739 Thank You by IndigosMom - at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks for looking!
