Apologies for the delay today - I haven't heard anything from Lyn, and hope everything is okay with her - so I will go ahead and post next week's challenge. Obviously today we are not quite so close to Christmas as I anticipated when I wrote it, and maybe not everyone has all their Christmas cards made - but it's not too early to work on a few thank-you cards anyway ;-).
Well, we're almost at the end of the year, and since it's so close to Christmas I'm sure that many people are busy - and I'm sure that everyone has all their Christmas cards made.
I thought that this
Stack and Cut Quilt Cards tutorial would be great for knocking out a handful of quick Thank You cards - although of course they don't have to be thank-you, you can make any type of card you like. Vary your DP and you can go for generic any-occasion, Valentines, anything at all.
There are no exact measurements required for cutting the pieces, just remember to keep them well lined up with each other as you cut them.
Personally I found it easier to start with pieces slightly bigger than stated; it allows for more of a margin of error, and you're going to be trimming the edges a tiny bit anyway just to make sure they're neat.
The last time I made them, instead of using 3 3/4" x 5" pieces of card as per step #6 in the tutorial, I cut a full-page label into quarters and stuck my pieces down onto that, and then trimmed it down.
The written tutorial and video are in our Resources section

Remember to choose Technique Spotlight from the first dropdown menu and Stack & Cut Quilt Cards from the second one - this helps build a library of inspiration for the community.

Remember to use the keyword
TLC773 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
