Default Which stamp company do you miss the most?

I am going through images of all of my stamp sets and it's making me a little sad. Which stamp company do you miss the most? Have you found anything comparable since they closed?

I really miss Flourishes. I have so many of their stamp sets, they were so elegant and I love the images - especially the Christmas and Fruit stamps.

Michele, I hope you've followed Marcy over to Power Poppy! She just keeps turning out beautiful artwork!

My first thought was PSX (Personal Stamp Exchange) but after a few seconds thought, I would have to say that top of the list of most-missed companies would be KKOriginals.

Yes, Michelle, I miss Flourishes too, but my favorite of their artists was Marcy and now that she has Power Poppy, I am so glad her art work is still available. Most of my other favorites are still around so I am happy about that.

I miss Posh Impressions and Dee Gruenig. That is where it all got serious for me. Sadly, I had to throw out all my old foam mounted stamps of her as the rubber totally cracked. The wood mounted ones are still going strong in my stash.

I miss Gray Wolf Graphics and Onyx Expressions. Both had beautiful and detailed stamps.

I miss Cornish Heritage Farms, especially the Rummage Bin, All Things Considered and Saturday Evening Post lines as well as the backgrounders and scrapblocks.

Power Poppy has a great selection of digital images as well as clear stamp sets (and there’s a sale at the moment - 25% off everything in stock). Lots of lovely colouring opportunities with Marcella’s images!

Remember Stampotique? They had such fun, quirky images and I loved the stamps themselves - they were so unique - no cling foam and that brightly colored rubber. I believe they pre-dated clear stamps

I miss Purrs and Pants, a small company that sold pet themed stamps. They had great images for especially sympathy stamps.

I'll second Onyx Expressions. I found them difficult to work with. But with a Chalk ink prep, a brayer, the right kind of white gloss paper and India ink, the images were awesome on a simply designed card - especially loved the wildlife for men's cards. Stamping with their images, when they worked, was like developing a photograph.

I miss Outlines stamp company. They had the cutest designs and I think was one of the first companies to offer layer flowers. Still have some of theirs. I also miss Chapel Road Stamp Co. Beautiful, artistic stamps. Their stamp sets are still around but sadly they haven't come out with any new artwork.

Verve. Most of my favorite sentiments are Verve. I don’t feel like I hit that going out of business sale well enough. I learned my lesson and bought practically everything I could from Craftin’ Desert Divas when she closed her shop. Haven’t had a chance to miss CDD yet.

Starvingartistamps was a fun company - I still have one of their goofball monster stamps.

I did always enjoy looking through the new TAC catalogs - I might still have one around somewhere.

I agree with Joann about CHF too. They had so many great stamps!

I got a lot of really nice travel-themed stamps from a company called Echoes des Voyages - they came in rubber plates, so you had to add the foam backing and cut them out yourself. This being in the days before stamp platforms, you also had to cut wood blocks, index them, and mount them! Does this tell you how long ago that was?

Thank you for posting this! I have some rubber stamps that were made from classic Hollywood photographs and I cannot get a good impression of them at all! I'm going to try again using your tips... So this post isn't totally OT I miss Waltzingmouse! I have the best Christmas stamps that I happened to buy the last month they were in business…

I miss WMS too! Claire who ran the company does some designs for Gina K now - some of the WMS designs carried over (so you can still get Festive Foliage, for example, just a couple of small tweaks from the original design) and there are some new designs too. Just look for Claire Brennan in the list of designers at Gina K.

StarvingArtiststamps, yes. She does some now on Etsy, but planner style. I still use my Doodle Factory ones regularly, so does Dawn Mercedes. Rubber Romance, I still use those on an ongoing basis. There were a few I never got, then she went to Etsy but I think it's gone from there too now.

I never had the budget to buy from CHF, but I spent plenty of time looking at their stamps. There was another company I didn't have the budget to buy from at the time, and I just can't think of their name. They did a lot of botanicals and nature, unmounted bare rubber, whole sheets/plates.

I liked, was it Pink Cat Studio? A Canadian company, grey rubber, clingmount. Any time I use my Shabby Chic set I get people wanting to know about it, and I use my sea creature sets from her regularly.

Elzybells. So sweet and simple, just darling. Elizabeth was supposed to design for Penny Black, and did briefly, but that didn't seem to last long.

Waltzingmouse and Posh Impressions - also good ones, IMO.

I really miss TAC - The Angel Company - A LOT!! I was one of their demonstrators and couldn't wait for the new realistic nature stamps!! I wish more companies did realistic rather than "cartoon" characters.

I miss flourishes too. But most of my stamps are getting gummy and yellowing. Even the ones that have yet to be inked shock I know. Just disappointed in the quality of their stamps as they are not lasting the test of time. After I move all my stamping stuff from the basement to my daughter's bedroom she will be heading off to graduate school I will pull these stamps out again and see if I can get good images from them I am really scared I might have to toss some

Raisin Boat is still around here, though I see now on their site that they're looking to sell the business:

I have to echo Elzybells - I absolutely love that line and still have my stance to this day.

I also miss There She Goes - I was newish to stamping and wish I knew them to stock up when they closed!

And The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS). Loved the whimsical style of that stamp line !

Wow! So many companies I never even had the chance to know! I’m missing Art Neko. They have some designs I wanted to order before their web redesign. I’ve been in touch with them a few times, and they say they are dealing with web image issues and copyright problems, but ..... It’s been a long time.....

I miss Squigglefly digital stamps. They had such a variety of great artists.

Oh my gosh, I so agree. Too many of the cutsy, cartoon style for me. But then, that saves me some money!
