Hi friends!
Have any of you tried or purchased the Magic Changer dies by Lawn Fawn? I watched a couple videos and I am intrigued.
If you know me, you know I have been staying with my sister since October 28th while our house gets moved into and finished. I have NONE of my stamping supplies with me so I am reduced to internet perusing. I am thinking of buying these dies and stamps right after Thanksgiving but I really want to know if they are that great or if they will end up in a box of rarely-used things. I would consider them my own house-warming gift to me!
Anyone seen them or tried them?
I have them and love them. Everyone I give the cards to are wowed by them. I love interactive cards, and this would be hard to create manually so having the dies makes it sooooo easy. It's totally unique and different.
I love that!
I really like interactive cards and fun folds. I think I will get these (if I ever get into my new house).
Thank you for your reply and the photos!
I watched the videos and think that these dies are great, but I'm just a bit thrown off by the price point. I don't do fancy fold cards or any of that, so this looks like a fun, easy way to make a "different" card with a wow factor. Does Lawn Fawn have sales on their dies very often? I may bite the bullet and let Santa bring these to me, but if he can get a deal, so much the better...
Don’t know how often the sales are, but I have received notifications from Lawn Fawn re sales in the past. You may have to set up an account to sign up for emails. Or perhaps keep an eye out for them to come on sale at other retailers in the coming weeks.
I signed up for the newsletter (which I NEVER do) and added my email to the "notify me when it's back in stock" (currently sold out), so I should find out if/when there is a sale and it's available...
You can watch for them at other stamping supply sites, too. I'm pretty sure Scrapbook.com carries Lawn Fawn, or Simon Says Stamp. Scrapbook.com has sales, frequently.
I bought this die and loved using it for my grandkids Easter cards last year. I don't do a lot of interactive cards, so I haven't pulled it out since. But, it is easy to use and a really fun idea that I think you can adapt for any age. I did a silly Llama card for a friend (75 years old) as my sample and she loved it. She said she pulled the tab for days...LOL. So, yes, I highly recommend. And, yes, Lawn Fawn has sales all the time -- sometimes they are limited to specific types of products (inks right now) and other times site wise (except the brand new products usually are not included in the sale). Getting their e-mail or routinely checking their blog is the best way to be find out about sales. Good luck everyone and Happy Stamping.

Lawn Fawn had a 15% off sale recently (ended Oct. 7), but a lot of sites that carry Lawn Fawn products do have sales or coupons, etc. Dies R Us, Craft Stash, MarkerPOP, and Hallmark Scrapbooking have all had Lawn Fawn sales recently, too. I sign up for emails from all the online stores I shop at and put what I want in the wishlists provided so that (a) I hear about all the sales and (b) know what I want to order when a sale hits; you might want to think about doing that. If you are on Facebook, join the Craft Room Daily Deals page, which aggregates a lot of sales.

After reading this thread and watching the video, I was totally enabled and ordered the combo set (main die and add on) from Amazon. They also had just the main picture changing die separately for about $10 less than other sites.

OMG LemurLover, talk about enabling. I have jumped on your Facebook recommendation for sales alerts. As if I need more stuff!!!! LOL.
A HUGE shoutout to cookiecat! Amazon did, indeed, have the best price AND I had reward points from my Amazon card, so the bundle is coming to live with me for less than $18.00!!! No way I'd get a deal like that anywhere else, I'm pretty sure. Thanks!
Diana (LemurLover) thanks for the heads-up, but there's a reason I don't subscribe as a general rule - too much stuff already! This bundle is kind of a one-off for me and I am going to go un-subscribe from Lawn Fawn's newsletter now, since I have the thing... Good info for others, though, for sure!
I have the die plus add-ons and love them. My first attempt wasn't successful because I managed to tear the mechanism by not pulling the tab quite straight. Since then, I've reinforced the sides of the picture changer mechanism with a bit of folded over narrow tape. IMO it makes the card just that little bit more durable if there's any danger of the recipient being as ham-fisted as I was! And of course we know that people can't resist playing with these cards.
