Default WT766 ~ Window Shopping ~ {11/14/2019}

Happy Thursday to you all. It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week, and this time my Ways To Use It is more by way of being an inspiration theme. Before you jump to conclusions and start thinking of window dies or images - that's not what we're about this week, though it might be quite possible for you to incorporate them into the theme. So - rather than using some actual supplies in our craft rooms this week, we are using inspiration from what we see in shop window displays.

I would you like to to be inspired by actual shop windows. There are great Christmas displays, of course, but you are free to take inspiration from any shop window which may have stuck in your memory. Just make sure to describe it to us so we know what inspired you - and if by any chance you have a photo, you can share it IN THIS THREAD, please don't upload it to the gallery. I've been saving a few displays that have caught my eye over the last few months, you are also free to use any one of them as inspiration. I did have a couple more I took at the Jazz Festival down in Cork, but my phone died last week, and I hadn't uploaded them :-(.

Once you've created your shop-window inspired card, upload it with the keyword WT766, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card, and is especially helpful in case of typos with the keyword.

Here's a link to our WT766 Window Shopping gallery

Here's a link to my sample: WT766 Christmas Dress

If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Thank you to Lisa and Carla for their inspiring samples.

I found the cutest Flower Shop window on Pinterest, Santa in a bathtub surrounded by a Christmas tree and all the trimmings. I had the perfect bathtub die, but no Santa that fit. I did have the fun JJ in a Christmas box Bugaboo image. So, here's my card, FF19dini WT766 Dear Santa. Bonus, I was able to combine this with Dina's Falliday Fest challenge.

Oh my gosh, Carla, your card is awesome and that shop window reminds me so much of a family place with Christmas lights and a train ride that we went to every year as kids. They had a bunch of small buildings with Santa scenes and windows to peek through. Our favorite was Santa in the tub. All of us kids got such a kick out of that!

Great idea for a challenge, Sabrina. I had to resort to Pinterest since locally there is very little inspiration. I do think of fabulous windows I've seen in NYC, but never took any photos. Tiffany & Co was known for their outstanding and clever window "art" by Gene Moore. So I went with this photo I found on Pinterest.

Sensational challenge, Sabrina! I can think of many places I window shop but one place I also pass by - and smell the fresh waffle cones - and drool - but have to keep walking is the ice cream shop!

Pinterest, of course, has amazing inspiration and this photo made me smile and think of this stacked ice cream cone mouse ...

For me, this challenge would have been worth it just to read the heart-warming story about the windows which inspired Kathy's card: WT766 Window Shopping by Carolinakathy !

This was an awesome challenge, Sabrina, but almost too many ideas were swirling. I love looking at holiday windows. Makes me think of Rhoda on Mary Tyler Moore. She did window dressing. Here is my offering, along with the picture I was inspired by: PS I don't know how to add an image from Google. Help!

It's like adding the attachments to your challenge ;-). You need to right click on the image and save it to your desktop, then add it as an attachment or using the insert picture icon.

Here is my card for this challenge:

I know this is not a Christmas Window Display which is when the challenge came out. More or less. But these figures reminded me of the mannequins used to display fashionable sports clothes in the spring.
