Scrappin' Challenge 2019Can you believe this is our 11th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2018 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2019! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2019! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends. Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2019 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc19nov"

I made my October goal. I did 16! My YTD is 134.
My goal for November is 10. Can’t wait for the challenges! I hope I can do them at my retreat 7th-11th.
My October goal was 25 and I got 12 done so I am going to say 10 for November since I know it will be a busier month. I may get more done if I get a certain project done that I am thinking about (another gift scrapbook).
I would have to guess on my yearly total so far as I did several books I gave a way. I am going to guess I am at 60 for the year so far.
Hope you are all doing great. Eveyone's pages are looking so good!

Super fun weekend last weekend with a Noom Scavenger Hunt. It was very motivating.

I am setting a small goal for Nov, just so I will accomplish at least a little bit. It is a huge event for me to get getting ready to go see my family. Another reason to set a low goal is that I've started making blocks for a quilt for my daughter.
YTD 139
Nov goal 10

My November goal will be 10. I got 9/10 last month but with calendars and trying to catch up on the photos I already have printed, I want to get a lot done. There's just always so much to do... ;)
Skimmed the October chat thread to make sure I had noted the challenges...
Terry, I still do a little digi scrapping, especially for the calendars I make at Christmas. But I have SOOO much DP and embellishments accumulated and always buying more, haha, so I really need to do traditional paper scrapping. I'm still a Stampin' Up! demonstrator (almost 16yrs) and I never use things up before the new catalogs come out (which is mostly fine :lolo: ) so my inventory is huge. I just need more time!
Looking forward to the VSBN. I do enjoy the challenges, even if I don't do well at getting them all done. <3

I have another layout finished but I'm not inclined to post it as I made such a rookie mistake at the very end by getting ink on one of the photos!!
Then I panicked and swiped instead of putting an edge of tissue into the bubble of ink!!!
RED right down the back of a white shirt!! That is all I see!!!
The photos are 7 years old. Finding the old camera card the picture is on, then finding a place that will still have the capability of printing a new photo will take a small miracle.
Does anyone know how to get red dyslusions ink off of a photo??
Oh my goodness, Sharon. A stressful accident, but you still have the photos and, I'm sure, it will still be a treasure in the years to come.
I haven't a clue on removing the ink - suspect it isn't possible. If you have a scanner get a file and using a editing program you might be able to clean it up. Then, paste the new copy over the faulty one.

Sorry for the ink stain, Sharon. Sounds like something I would do. I would just put a leaf over it or something or turn into something where I focused on errors (i.e. point it out).
I did two pages today. We went to Selma, AL yesterday and visited an old cemetery and walked the famous bridge. Here are my cemetery pages:

It was a bad month for me. I got a whopping 1 layout done. I did make a viking, a princess bride hero, a mummy, mary poppins, an army guy, a christmas tree, mr potato head, R2D2 and a cheerleader in costumes. So I wasn't wasting my time, I just wasn't scrapping. This puts my YTD at 315 I'm going to try to get 30 pages done this month. Maybe I'll print and scrap the Halloween costume pics and you can see if it was worth getting behind in my goal!
Oh please do share pics of the costumes! What a lot of work, sounds amazing.
I made a page yesterday and hope to at least start my second today. Slow start, but still hoping to reach my goal this month.

Sharon, I have no idea how to remove the ink, but your story made me wonder how you store your digital photos. Do you not download them from your camera onto your computer hard drive? Do you keep buying camera cards when you've filled up one? Please tell!
I had a decently good crafting weekend, even with a sick toddler. I got three pages done and a card for my upcoming class. I also did the math, haha, and realized I have to get 21 pages done this month to get the calendars ordered on time, whoops. Don't know why I thought I had December to get it all done, haha! So here's the pages I completed:
The pictures I was working with for the layout is from my digital camera that I don't even use anymore. I found it to be cheaper/safer to keep the photos stored on a camera disk and just buy new ones as they fill up.
More reliable too than having them put on a cd!!
The problem finding it now is the fact that I have been packing "non-essentials" for this move that I had THOUGHT would have taken place by NOW!
The photos on my computer end up LOST when the graphics/video card goes out and they don't make replacements any longer because the computer is too old!!
I can honestly say that I have wanted stored digital photos only a hand full of time over the years!! It hardly pays to keep the digital image once I print!!! If they are in a scrap book then I see no reason to use the photo again.
Well, Tanya, I'm thinking these calendar pages are multi-family, not just yours. Or not your immediate, but extended. Very lovely of you to do this each year for your parents.
Interesting question has arisen in my mind. How does everyone store photos?

I store mine on my computer. ( or laptop). They go back a lot of years. Early 2000s. That is mainly what my laptop is for. Some of my photos that were printed, but I also have on discs, just because they did it for an additional $1.00. I even have taken photos of older photos and have them on my computer, too.
I store my photos on my computer and on an external hard drives and upload them to Shutterfly. It’s free and that way if a fire or tornado wipes out my stuff here including my hard earned scrapbooks all is not lost then by having them off site as well.

Joyce Ann, I do two different calendars.
One is for my husband's parents, and it only has my little family. His family is massive, so sometimes a cousin or someone extra ends up on the page, but pretty much its just the five of us.
The second started as for my parents, but my siblings all wanted a copy, so it's the same one just printed four times. ;) But since it hangs at "grandma's house" my mom wants every person possible on every page, and I have to have all 12 grandkids on every page for sure. Which can make things a little complicated, LOL!!!

Bon Jour my friends! I'm back from my International Travels ... of course, now I'm headed off for some US travel (NC). Fortunately only a couple nights out and then I'm home for a week plus ... bonus
I had a "Magical" time on my trip, loved every minute of it! Hoping that you're all doing good. I'll get our totals updated this week.
I'm actually going to a Crop this month so looking forward to getting pages done ...

Welcome back, Lela. I can't wait to see your pictures! I know it was amazing. Even NC sounds like fun.
I am the poster child of what not to do with pictures so I won't comment on my methods. I do wish I had taken more pictures though!

I finished up a layout this morning after walking away from my scrapping desk many times in the past week. My malfunctioning CPAP machine is making life so hard - can't concentrate, always tired even when I supposedly slept 7 hours, morning headaches, etc. - so I'm really glad I finally got this layout done. I realized afterwards that if I had added embossing I could have used it for VSBN challenge 4, but I guess I will just have to play along with that challenge on another layout!
I've been working like crazy. My second son, who is the most competitive, is concerned that I'm not going to make my year goal of 360 pages. He keeps ushering me downstairs to my room after dinner to work, because, "His mom isn't going to be one of those ladies who doesn't get her work done, if he has any say in it." I'm humoring him because I think it's hilarious my goal is now more important to him than me. Teenagers make me laugh.
I got a lot done at the scrap retreat, but need to photograph and I made the mistake of already putting them in the correct books, so not sure I can find them all! I showed them to my DH and then started putting them away without thinking. I will try to get them posted. Also , I did a 20 page 6x6 book digitally. Don't know how to count that.
Hi everyone. We are back. Had a fabulous time albeit we both have come back home sick. I’m doing better than hubby.
Welcome back Lela and glad that you enjoyed France.
Just popping on to say a quick k hello and sending hugs to you all.
Happy weekend.
