Has everyone had a great October so far? We were in the 90s here for the past two weeks and today we were in the upper 50s! I guess Autumn has found my neck of the woods!
Thank you all for returning this month to take a look at the challenge!
For this month, I came up with a card to use scraps of paper that I typically throw away. I've seen a lot of posts on various Facebook and SCS threads showing how to use your scraps in a creative way. Since all of us are going to be upping our card production soon, I thought what a great time to do this kind of challenge. We'll ALL have scraps, I'm sure. I always get out my "good" paper for Christmas, too, and have a hard time throwing any of it away.
I ordered a monthly card kit from a Scrapbooking site recently. I typically don't do kits, but this one was really cute.
After making some cards and tags with all the goodies in the box, I cut down some of my scraps and came up with a cute background. I think this is a perfect Autumn Card with perfect Autumn colors. Makes me what some hot chocolate for some reason!
Here's my card. It took, maybe, 30 minutes to make from designing to glueing and sequins. In my craft room, that's record time!

Your challenge this month is to use some scraps you've got laying around to make a card. If you don't have patterned paper, you can use solid colors. Try making your own patterned paper and coordinating with solid. I didn't use my MISTI on this card, but I did use my Cut-Align to cut all my paper strips and the ruler part to make sure my die cut sentiment was straight. I'll use my MISTI on the inside of the card to make sure my words are straight and nice and crisp by stamping it multiple times.
I hope you have fun this month! It's a pretty quick design to pull off, so I won't be taking up much of your time as the holidays are approaching.
Happy October!

Scraps were used to make all my die-cuts and the sentiment rectangle mats. This card did not require a MISTI, though I have the original + the mini, but I can see that your new Cut-Align ruler might have been very handy to make sure my sentiment mat layers here evenly placed where I wanted them from corners to the top, bottom, and sides. I'm putting it on my "WANT" list!
MISTI Monday I use scraps often...and have a way of using a die cut from solid scraps. Makes easy fast cards.
I used my cut-align yesterday in making sliver pieces from dp...use that ruler more often than I ever imagined!
I'm also realizing that I need a mini-MISTI again...I gave mine away to someone who didn't have a MISTI...I'm sorta, kinda, really, wishing I hadn't done that...but...she is happy having one and I do have the regular size one but that mini-MISTI fit so nicely on my crowded stamp table!!!! :p

This sure looks like fun !! If I hadn't promise to gift my daughter with a mini Misti I sure would be getting that ruler!!! But it's definitely on my wish list along with extra of your magnificent long magnets!! Mahalo Fairy Much for these Challenges!!
I'm a quilter and have always used my quilt cutting tools for cutting stamping papers as well (a special rotary cutter set aside for paper, of course!). Very similar techniques to the Cut-Align, but no need to buy, yet another, tool. Quilting mats, rulers, rotary cutters work like a charm.
I had fun using some scraps from an alcohol ink background for my card. I trimmed 1/4 inch strips of this background and copper cardstock. After weaving the strips, trimmed to square and adhered to card.
I don't own a MISTI, but hoping to someday. Thank you for the opportunity to play.

When you do purchase a MISTI you will no longer waste cardstock! It is worth every penny...I might not have wasted $45 but I was close I'm sure!
My husband ordered a mini-MISTI last night at 8:13 PM for me...I just got an email stating that my order has left the warehouse via USPS...UHM...lightening fast service...

Mahalos Much for my win and how fast it was processed and delivered!! My daughter love her gift eminencely !!! Hahahaha got her the bundle and way so in love with the bag that my daughter had to remind me it was her gift and was not breaking the bundle!! ROFLMBO!! Spoil brats these days lol but seriously Mahalos Fairy Much so Greatly Appreciated!!
I used a scrap of white for the image which needed to be inked 3 times for a good impression, MISTI to the rescue (can you tell I'm listening to Toy Story 3 with my husband and our granddaughter?)
I used a scrap of blue for the before it went into the incinerator and the little strips seemed very unimportant!
YEAH for this challenge that had a happy ending! (Not sure what the ending of Toy Story 3 is but my daughter says she cried.)

Thank you so much MISTI Monday for a great challenge. I took my scraps from my Motley Monster DSP folder and make 7 cards total. I listed the first one and now I will list the others. I used my MISTI on all of them to keep the sentiment as straight as possible. Of course, I cannot guarantee that the DSP is straight. Here is the second card numbered as the first:
I made another card that fits this challenge. It is fun to fit the little square together and make a quilt-like design. I think it fits the baby theme.
I don't have a MISTI, but if I did, I could have put all the squares together and then done the stamping and it would be positioned exactly right.
Hi everyone! Just checking in! So October is coming to an end! That happened so fast! I'm headed to check out the gallery!
FYI, I'm having surgery this Friday, November 1st. I'm hoping to still be able to get a card made and challenge posted. It may be a little late if I'm not feeling up to it, but I'm hoping to get all my Christmas cards done while I'm off work for 2 weeks.
Much love to you all and I hope you are having a great October!
MISTI Monday

All of the items are scrap with the exception of the gifted sentiment and bg paper. The bg paper I distressed with sandpaper.
The green panels are actually two scraps fitted together, the tiny flower edge is another scrap.
The flowers are scraps from other flowers, which I pieced together for one flower and a branch! Didn't think I would like it at first but it came together nicely.
Ever so often I like to take my scraps and just play with them and make cards!
MISTI Monday...praying you will heal quickly and fully, obey the doctor!
I made 2 cards yesterday as I continue to clean off the stamp table from a card class I offered free at our local library on the 22nd...had great attendance and each person made 10 cards and one "sour cream" M&M container!
Thanks again for these challenges, I find them enjoyable to do...especially when I use what I have and can make the card in my style!
Everyone needs a MISTI in my opinion
