Disbanded - Gallery Gazers Blog Group
I love perusing the SCS Gallery! Unless I am traveling, I try to spend some time in the gallery every morning (except Sundays). There are some really amazing card-makers on SCS, as well as those who journal, scrapbook, and more!
I also love blogging! In fact, so much so that I set a personal goal for 2018 to have a blog post every day. So far, I have not failed in that goal.
AND I love Blog Groups! I am currently in a couple of them. They are a great way to make friends, encourage one another in this hobby we share, and so much more.
Therefore I decided why not pair those three loves together and start a blog group that also involves the Gallery; thus, the idea for Gallery Gazers was born.
Gallery GazersThis is a blog group, which means the members are active bloggers. I think active bloggers are those who blog at least once a week, with rare exceptions. As a blog group, we will regularly visit the blogs of the other members and leave comments. This will give us inspiration as we admire the creativity of others and it will also boost the viewership of all of our blogs.
2. By virtue of the our group name and my development of this blog group, this is also a group that peruses the SCS gallery regularly. I will encourage you to leave comments there, and choose favorites, too. It is always a fantastic journey for me as I scroll through the gallery and admire the work of others.
3. We will have a fairly simple monthly challenge. Once a month we should each find something in the SCS Gallery that catches our eye and CASE that item. CASEing is not difficult. We are not recreating the card/project in its entirety. Instead, choose to CASE something about that card: the overall sketch, the color scheme, etc. Of course, we MUST give credit to the one we are CASEing and tell what our CASE is. I would like to suggest that we not have a set day of the month for these CASE challenge projects. Instead, members will choose what day fits their own blog schedules best and will post on that day. We are going to be here in this thread hanging out, chatting, and such anyway so whatever day you post your CASE Challenge to your blog, just make note of it here in the thread (maybe even add a link directly to the blog post) so we will not miss seeing it. Just make yourself accountable to do a CASE challenge project at some point during the month.
When uploading your CASE card to the gallery, please use the Keyword Gallery Gazers - so we can find it easily in a search.

Just a quick clarification - will we post the cards we like/gallery gaze/intend to make a future date here in the thread or will we have a designated space to keep track of them? I can do whatever - it all works!:p
And no sooner than me checking back, I saw this beauty grabbed my attention - definitely one I plan to try at some point!

Kelly, good questions! I don't think you must post the cards you'll plan to CASE here in the thread, but you can if you'd like. Unfortunately the only way you can really do that is in a post that you made, so like your first post - and I could post in Post #1, which post your "list" could be found.
Or... you can just show us when you make your card - or direct us to your CASE blog post if that's easier.
Does that make sense?

Kelly and Barb... I know we three know each other, but let's introduce ourselves a wee bit, so Adriana can get to know us, too. And Adriana, I hope you'll share a little bit about yourself, too.
I'll go first.
I am a wife and mother of three. My husband is a minister and we love what we do - I say we because we do it together. You'll often hear me refer to Brock. He is our second-born, a strapping young man who loves his bibbed overalls and his ducks. He is a joy, keeps me on my toes and allows me to smother him with hugs and love. He lives with us and always will, at least until my husband and I can no longer take care of him. Brock is autistic. We also have an older son who lives about 7-8 hours north of us. He is a "manny" (the male version of nanny) to 3 youngsters - twins 3 and a delightful barely 2 year old girl (their sister) who was born with multiple challenges. Our daughter (the baby of our family) is a special ed teacher in the bush of Alaska. I guess you could say Brock has had quite an impact of the vocation choices of our other two children.
I love to stamp - obviously! I also am what my husband calls a full-time volunteer. I lead conferences, go on mission trips, write for a national organization, serve in our state convention, etc.
I also love - LOVE!!! - to travel!
I cook (my husband would say occasionally), clean (when I must), and organize our home (something I truly enjoy!).
My life is an open book. Ask and I'll tell you almost anything... except my age. I lie about that all the time. I am 17... have been for years. ;)

It sounds like you have a wonderfully full life with a family you truly adore. You must be so proud of your kiddos; that they have taken what they learned at home and are now enriching the lives of others is such a blessing. Truly the "hands and feet".
I already have a new respect for you - a minister's wife! I am an admin at our church and see how many directions a pastor's wife can get pulled in. Makes me tired just thinking about it� ;) My main role there is helping run the guest services teams. We are revamping that right now and it's quite a challenge.
I'm happily married to my college sweetie and we have two wonderful boys. One is in college (hopes to be a pediatric nurse) and the other is about to begin his senior year in high school. Next year is sure to be emotional but I'm not going to think about that right now! lol
There are days I enjoy cooking and other days I am SO glad we are okay with leftovers. (So when I cook, I make double!). Cleaning has become a family thing. The only "job" I get every week is cleaning showers. I'm not sure what their resistance is to that, but it is REAL� :rolleyes:
I'm not a TV watcher, so I tend to listen/half-watch a lot of youtube videos regarding healthy eating and crafting, of course. I really enjoy making cards and giving them away to friends and through the Cards for a Cause challenge here. I need to get better about actually using some of them myself�
Aside from that, I feel like I should warn you that I can be a little goofy. I'm trying to control myself, but some days I feel like the world could use more silliness. So be warned... |

Welcome Adriana--this post will be mainly for you as I am sure Kelly and Jeanette know pretty much everything I am about to write...……………….
I am a retired teacher/coach/athletic director and I live in SE Wisconsin, about 20 minutes from Milwaukee. I retired in 2009 and I love all of my time now that I am able to devote stamping! I also love to garden and we also have a greenhouse that we are able to start all of the flowers and vegetables from seeds that we plant every year. I have over 30 pots and baskets of flowers on our deck and I love the view of all of the colors--this year it is shades of purple, mainly various types of petunias.
My roommate still works, but will semi-retire within the next year. She will take off next summer to play in our gardens and to do a bit of traveling. We both spent time with lots of our family in the area, especially our nieces and nephews, and their children! We love to travel and I try to meet many ladies who I have met on SCS or in other stamping forums--I have been fortunate to meet both Kelly and Jeanette, along with probably a dozen other stampers over the years in Texas, Florida, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Virginia, Connecticut, Illinois and of course Wisconsin! I love stamping and my inky friends!
