DESCRIPTION:
Adam’s Camp envisions a world where children and young adults with special needs and their families are empowered with the courage, hope, skills and tools for a lifelong journey of realizing potentials and developing strengths. Adam’s Camp is successful because they meet the needs of the individual and the family in a camp setting, where healing and hope are contagious.
The impact of their programs is clear:
Children with developmental delays experience significant developmental gains and have higher quality therapy experiences following camp as a result of the roadmap developed while there
Siblings gain new strategies for living with a sibling with special needs while appreciating a quality camp experience themselves
Parents gain new strategies to support their child’s development, build a network of resources, and feel renewed from the respite they experience at camp

Oh what a great cause! I'm In!!!
Are the cards we're going to send for the Staff to give to participants?
or "graduates"? or benefactors? or all of the above?

I would say all of the above. While kids are the focus they also care for the whole family including mom and dad too....so cards for kids and adults would be great....plus thank you cards for those who donate to them are always welcome too.
Oh silly me! Thanks to Dolores I have corrected the link to the website for this months cause....sorry! That will teach me to just cut and paste and not try it first right?:razz:
I am loving the theme this month of camping, the outdoors etc.
I have gotten started and found I have quite a lot of stamps that can be used for this.
Before I started I found I already have previously made 6 cards that can be used for this group.
Today I made 2 cards for the sketch challenge which will be going to this cause. I have stamped up quite a few images and have several card designs ready to put together.
Awesome cause!! I have a friend in Aurora CO, she said several of her clients have been to the camp. She is excited we are using them!! Mine will be out later this month as I just found out tonight that I am having surgery on my hand tomorrow or Friday at the latest. I had a nick in my finger back in April which turned into a staph infection which has now turned into septic arthritis. Doc is putting me in tomorrow morning for tests, pic line and surgery. Luckily, cards are made and hubby will match with envelopes and mail once I get back home.
All of this started from a nick in my skin when I was cutting some ribbon. It is the craziest thing! Take a lesson from me, put a band-aid on any wound before going out in public.
Jeri, I'm so glad you are participating! Love the 2 cards you shared....very pretty!!! Sorta makes me want to go camping...ok, I must confess that my idea of roughing it is the Holiday Inn...but it makes me want S'mores

Sharon, how neat that you personally know someone who has a connection to Adam's Camp! I'm praying that your surgery went well and that healing will happen quickly...and that they were able to get all the infection cleared up!

I used to joke with my kids that i don't do camping - my idea of camping is a Black and White TV in the living room.
Or that timeframe after the hurricane when there's no power - or Cable...
But Holiday Inn definition works!

OMG - Here's me hoping all went well for you!
Agreed: Bandaid, triple antibiotic cream and one of those alcohol based sanitizers! There's just way too many germs running rampant in the wild.

How is your recovery coming along? I hope you’re healing well.

So sorry to hear about your finger! Hope surgery went well and you are on your way to a complete recovery!
Evening all!! I am alive and well. Still have stitches in the hand that will hopefully come out Friday. It was a little worse than expected as I have osteomyelitis in addition to the septic arthritis. I have a Pic line in and have to go to the hospital everyday at 9am for IV therapy. The fun just never ends. We are starting with a 6 week course (42 days) and reevaluate then. I feel really run down but also some better. I can move my right hand and fingers now!! After therapy and nap tomorrow I will have my hubby help me fill up a box!! Thank you all for thoughts and prayers. This has been a little scary for me and just so out there. I have a weak immune system and have learned my lesson about nicks and band-aids.

Dropped off a box at the Post Office this morning. USPS Tracking No. 9505 5143 1067 9266 2485 26, scheduled to arrive Thursday, September 26. Thank you for the opportunity to spread joy.
Hi All! Sending out 25 cards this month. Although I did dig out my camping themed paper, my schedule was a bit too crazy this month to do much crafting and creating. So I raided my stash instead.
Sharon, it sounds like you've been through quite an ordeal with your hand - I hope you are feeling better and making progress each day!
Looking forward to participating in October!
Becca

Have a happy holiday!

Thank you for all you do to continue to support Cards For A Cause and each organization that we feature. You all are truly a blessing!!!!
