Challenge Title: Silhouettes in September Hostess: MISTI Monday Keyword: MSP25 Date: September 4th, 2019
Hi everyone! Thanks for your well wishes and understanding for the delayed challenge. Apparently I've started having gall bladder attacks or issues. I went to the ER with some pretty severe pains and that's what they came up with. Who knows. I'm feeling better tonight and really appreciate all your love!!
So it's SEPTEMBER! OH MY. That went fast, didn't it?
Let's head right into the challenge. I've called it 'Silhouettes in September', so guess what element you'll need to have on your card? You guessed it!
There's a gentleman who turned 90 recently and someone asked me to make a card for them to give him. He's a farmer...so voila!
I did a little farm scene making my barn and windmill silhouetted against a sunrise/sunset. I hope he enjoys it. You gotta love those tiny cows and sheep at the bottom! I used an older Papertrey Ink stamp set called On the Farm, dies from their Petite Places line and Gina K Inks. I used my MISTI to give my black crispness as it allows me to stamp more than once with precision. I cut out the sentiment using my Cut-Align. Gosh I love that little tool. Well, I love everything MSP comes up with!
Here is my card!
(I lightened this picture 4 times...every time I saved it, it went back to the darker original image. I apologize for such poor lighting.)
I hope you like it. It was super fun to try and come up with a card for a 90 year old man. I don't ever remember doing a silhouette technique on a card so this was fun.
Your challenge is to create a card with a silhouette as your focal point. I'm sure you will all come up with great ideas and entries! I always say I'm going to make more cards that fit the challenges, then never do it. I really want to do it this time! Don't hold me to that, though...lol.
Please enjoy the rest of your month. I'm starting to get the Christmas Card itch....and longing for all the Christmas releases...oh my.
Have a good one and good luck!

What a wonderful challenge, MISTI Monday. I'll have to pull my silhouette stamps and see what I can come up with this month. So happy to hear you are feeling a bit better. I do hope and pray your issues are resolved and not just temporarily taken care of. Pain is not our friend.
I used my MISTI to align the sentiment and to stamp it several times until it was as dark as I liked. This is definitely something I could not do before. I had the stamp-a-ma-jig before, but it was not always precise. Now, I have no problem with my MISTI.

Awww Sis Jayne your so sweet!! Mahalos Fairy Much Sis!
Hahahaha I'm not so lucky Sis . But yes I've been playing this for Challenge for about or going 2 years now. Congratulations again to all the winners and their fabulous creations.
My MISTI was a great help for the masked bg, able to hold the paper in place to make the masking easier. The MISTI is not just for stamping it is an extra hand when needed!!
It provide an easier way to sponge the bg and keep the lines straight.
Congratulations for your two year anniversary of creating these challenges. I have only played in a few, but they are fun.

Just had to do another for this month, combined with the MIX challenge!!
Over my dark Dylusions bg it was really necessary to use my mini MISTI to stamp the images 4 times to get them dark enough!! Without the MISTI I would not have been able to line them up well enough!!
