It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week - and we are going sailing. Here's why we're taking to the seas (or rivers or lakes) today:
On August 22, 1851, the U.S.-built schooner America bests a fleet of Britain’s finest ships in a race around England’s Isle of Wight. The ornate silver trophy won by the America was later donated to the New York Yacht Club on condition that it be forever placed in international competition. Today, the “America’s Cup” is the world’s oldest continually contested sporting trophy and represents the pinnacle of international sailing yacht competition.
So, bring out your yachts, overhaul your dinghies and rowing boats, take a cruise. If anybody has a paddle steamer I'll be over the moon!
My photo shows the little wooden boats that children can hire to sail on the pond in the centre of the Jardin de Luxembourg in Paris.
Use the keyword WT754 for your creation today and come back and share a link here (makes it easier for hostesses to make sure they don't miss out on any). Here's a link to our WT754 Lets Go Sailing gallery
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
And as always, my thanks go to my fellow team-members who have created these inspiring samples for you: Lisa, Carla and Cathy all took to the seas.
Thanks for the fun challenge, Sabrina. Love that photo. Here's my card, WT754 Good Day Sunshine!, complete with a little boy with a boat to match your photo!
Neat summer challenge, Sabrina! Living on the desert-side of Oregon, I don’t get the opportunity to see real sail boats on the ocean, so I just imagined what it would look like on this card. Super fun card to make!

Sabrina and Jeannie, your challenges were fun and I enjoyed that I could make one card for both of your challenges.

Here's a Paddlewheel boat just for you Sabrina! WT !C A Paddlewheel Steamer RobinC by Stamperrobin - at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks for looking!
PS, the only real paddlewheel boat I've ever seen was at Disneyland believe it or not!! It actually takes a little tour around Tom Sawyer's Island (or it used to when I was younger) for people who chose to ride.
