I just ordered 5 pkgs cardstock from Ink to Paper. Both companies offer same, so I went back and forth which to order from. Would the PTI system even accept an order from me?
It was my understanding that both brands would be separate entities, with Ink To Paper (I2P) taking on the retail responsibilities and Papertrey Ink (PTI) going wholesale (and being offered in "select" stores). They automatically moved customer points over to I2P (even though they originally said they weren't going to) but since you could still order from PTI, you earned points on that site as well (its also my understanding you can ask for your points to be moved back to PTI - and the points don't merge so you would have 2 points banks if shopping both sites and not asking for the once-only allowed move). But now they're selling I2P items on the PTI site.
I'm not a business-minded person so I don't understand any of these business decisions, like why create a new unknown brand for retail when PTI was already established and known to the crafting community. Why not just PTI online and in shops? Why not make I2P the wholesale arm if a separate brand was needed?
I really like PTI's paper and stocked up when they were having their 'goodbye to PTI' sales. The whole situation just feels very strange to me and its put me off from purchasing anything further from PTI or I2P.
