Default delicata correct cleaner

How should I clean delicata off my stamps? I read here you have to use staz on which I don't have on hand. What happens to pads if you don't use it? What do you all use when using delicata?

Wow. I was looking for information about the Delicata ink pads. No one agrees about much of anything.

Some say pigment-ink base, some say oil-base, some say water-base.
Some say don't work well with water.
Some say they dry fast and don't emboss well, others say they dry slow and you need to heat set.

I wish that Tsukineko would actually give some better information! They used to have a much better website.

They have ONE chart that is titled Ink Surface Compatibility. From it I know for sure:
**Delicata is a water-based pigment ink. Others in this category include VersaColor and VersaMagic. It is NOT the same as VersaMark (oil-based resist) or StazOn (solvent based).
**It works best on cardstock, needs to be embossed on coated paper but should be tested.

They don't say how to clean. But I clean my VersaColor and VersaMagic with soap and water, sometimes using a toothbrush to reach all the ink, just like all my pigment inks (well, all that I have).

I'm thinking I need a couple of Delicata pads after all that research. Totally beautiful images!

Many times I've used a drop +/- of dishwashing liquid and a toothbrush ... especially if the ink has dried on the stamp. You can also use your stamp cleaner/scrubby, your favorite spray, shammy-type cleaner/cloth & water. All of these 'will work', but will require varying amounts of determination. With pigment inks, everything seems a little easier if it's still wet on the stamp.

Diane, I have a PSX angel (silhouette) that I stamped with Delicata Sapphire - it was gorgeous. I bought the Golden Glitz as soon as it came out. Love that ink!

I have the copper Delicata. Stamps and embosses beautifully. Didn't realize there was a Sapphire, it's on my list now

I use a DIY stamp cleaner (Glycerin, dish soap and water) followed with a spritz of water. Cleans up just fine.

Hand sanitiser will also remove most inks, including Staz-on, with no effort. I just give a bit of a scrub with an old toothbrush. I'd recommend a quick wash with soap and water after.

I’m no help as far as cleaning the ink off your stamps, but thought I would de a little enabling. I was just at Hobby Lobby and they have the Delicata ink on clearance for $2.74 each. My store had the Ruby Red and the Sapphire Blue. Happy shopping!

Have never heard of Delicata inks before. Looked them up on line just now. Are they any different than Encore or Colorbox metallic inks?

I have allllll the Delicata <and that Ruby Red and Sapphire are both GORGEOUS> and I love, love, love them! I use any stamp cleaner (stampin' up, hero arts, whatever) I have on hand and a baby wipe to get it off my stamps. Use a stamp shammy or one of the micro fiber cloths, stamps will be clean as a whistle.

These inks are da bomb! And if you would like to be enabled a bit further? Check out the Encore line of inks from Tsukineko as well. Oh my, oh my---(fnas self) - l.o.v.e.l.y. !!!

Just sayin'....

Another thumbs up here for The Encore Metallics. Had mine for at least 10 years, probably over 15. I have gold, silver, as well as at least half a dozen other colours. yeah, I really got into heat embossing when I started, lol. Apart from the gold & silver which have both been reinked a couple of times, the others are as I bought them, and still work totally fine. I do store my pigment inkpads upside down,as the ink is so much thicker, I feel it helps to keep the ink at the top of the pad.

I like them because they don't need to be heat-set at all, whereas I always found the Encore metallics needed to be embossed to be sure they didn't rub off. So I can get a more subtle effect with the Delicate gold and silver.

Thanks, Sabrina. You are a good enabler. I may have to look into them. I have a couple ink pad drawers full of Colorbox, Encore and Opalites. I can't get the reinker for the Opalites, so don't use them as much. Wish I could find some, as I like the effect. same for my drawer full of Colorbox Chalk inks---no refills. Why am I keeping this unusable things?

My Indiana Hobby Lobby had theirs at this price, too. I bought the Rose Gold. It's lovely!

Check online first - if they have it, they will deliver it to store. I'd want to know if I was driving that far! HTH

I just came home from St. Peters MO Hobby Lobby and they had many different colors marked down to $2.74 and then some of their ColorBox pads were $1.24 had to get some of those too. Oh and then they had a bunch of different clear stamp sets as well as wood mounts on clearance. All of this stuff was marked way down. I bought 4 of the Delicata (sapphire, white, red & pink). They had a washi tape as well as the small ribbon spools, small cards, some flower die cuts...all marked down...fun to look at.

Too bad I can't bring myself to shop at HL anymore. Guess I'm not supposed to have those things on sale!

Glad you found those things on sale. Just a quick FYI...My favorite contact at my local crafters place has heard that Color Box is going out of business...So it may be a good time to pick up reinkers for favorite color pads...
