I am in the process of making Christmas cards for donating. One of the cards has three layers. Just noticed instead of Ho Ho, mine says OH, oH, oH, Yes it is very snuggly glued upside down. I wondered if it could be salvaged with Goo Gone. I have more paper, but would like to be able to use the focal image if possible.
Stacy, I haven’t tried anything but trying gently to pull it up. I do have dental
floss so I will give it a try. If that doesn’t work, bjeans, I am sure I can get
Un-Do at Amazon. Thanks so much to both of you.

Generally I am able to lift off an adhered layer by simply heating it and lifting it off with a metal pallet knife (spatula?). When I use 3M foam tape on the layer, I will heat from underneath since that's the glue you want to soften. You don't want it to be over heated, you just want it warm enough to reactivate the glue, soften it so it comes up easily. Test a little at a time and reheat if necessary.
I also use this system when I am removing labels off of boxes that we receive in the mail by heating on top of the label and it works like a charm. HTH
Cindy, sounds like a good idea. Will it work with liquid glue like Art Glitter Glue
or only with tape?
I have never tried it on that particular glue but if you're gentle with the heat it might work and just work gently removing the layer. Try it and if the layer does not start to lift give it a bit more heat - not much, you don't want to cook it, you just want it warm. I can't stress enough not to over heat.
Oh gosh. I have done this. What is the adhesive? I find liquid glues not liftable but DS tape could be. Could be just me though.
Is the whole panel upside down or just the sentiment?
Whole: Can you cut the card apart and flip it? It is extra thick but the simplest to me. Depends on how many layers/ how thick they are. Just put the discarded back part into scraps.
Sentiment-I would go with Undo too. The problem with goo gone is it can leave a smell.
Haven't had time today to try these excellent ideas. Think I will start with dental floss, and then the next ones. Hopefully I will have succes with one of
them.
Have ordered the Un-Du. Ho Ho Ho is part of the design of the printed paper which is layer number two, and it is the problem. The base layer and focal image are position correctly. The first layer is not directional, but the focal is. Cutting and placing it on another card would then perhaps cause the focal image to be upside down. Maybe it would be easier if I can remove the focal, which I am most interested in saving. I could
either cut and layer it on another card base, or start over since I have more of the patterned paper.

Hi, Lois! My go-to is a handy-dandy tool I bought about fifteen years ago from Creative Memories, the Multi-purpose Tool. HERE is a link if you want a new one, but I betcha you could find one on Ebay or find something similar. It has cleanly removed layers that I thought would be impossible. :p
I have used UnDu for years and have enjoyed doing this little trick and watching their faces. Take a piece of duct tape and a piece of toilet paper square and stick them together. Now take the UnDu with the black scraper and go under the edge of the toilet paper keep it wet and just keep going and everything will be wet but be easy with the toilet paper don't pull and it will come off in one very nice piece. That shows how good and gentle it is to our projects
Just a couple of weeks ago I needed to remove a layer. My go-to has long been dental floss & a patient lumberjack saw motion ... only with gentler force for paper of course.

I second this! One of my must have tools that has saved many cards from the trash bin. Despite my best efforts, there are those times when I don't double check my base card orientation.... and disaster ensues. Thank for the link, I really need a back up but didn't know where to get one. Ive had it for years, and sooner or later it will break or be left behind somewhere.

If you use glue "Un-Do will not work. Only works with scor-tape and tape runners.

I would stay away from using any liquids on the cards. I typically use a Cricut spatula to slide under the object and gently pry them off the cards. It is very thin and allows itself to go under very thin gaps. The spatula can be purchased at Cricut or Amazon.
if the message is the only thing that is wrong with your top layer why don't you just add layer on top with the message going the right way. No extra mat or anything just the message it will pop up and won't look like a mistake and you won't have to hassle with goo gone
I’m sorry, I know I’m not supposed to laugh. We’ve all been there. I just wanted to thank you. My husband has been in the hospital for a decent part of the month and it been “get through this, one foot in front of the other.” I haven’t been able to be in my happy place and I didn’t know how much I needed a good giggle. Unfortunately, I don’t have a tip, just a huge thank you smile.
I use the "cover it up" technique all the time - cover a crocked sentiment with a sentiment on a banner; change the sentiment by covering it with another piece of card stock with the right one; cover an ink blotch with an enamel or pearl, or draw a bird using the blotch - the possibilities are endless, and I often find that the "fix" improves the card!

I use Undu all the time. I have used it on snail tape, fast fuse tape, tear n tape, liquid Tombow glue and more. The trick is to let liquid glue dry first, then use Undu. I have saved more projects using that bottle of goodness. When you separate your layers, set them aside, glue side up and allow the Undu to air dry. 5 mins or so. The layers will be sticky, but I add some additional adhesive and reposition in the right direction....but if you mess up again! I have....wait a few minutes and start with the Undu.

You can use a heat gun to melt the glue without hurting your project. if it curls just use an iron or if small pieces use a flat iron that is used for hair. I find the flat iron on small things is great! Hope this helps you save your cards!
I would leave it! I like it better than Ho Ho Ho anyway and Oh Oh Oh (what could be under the tree? Is that a HoHoHo I hear?) Oh is positive excitement!
Well funny enough here in the UK some time ago they stopped using Ho Ho Ho with Santa as it had connotations the politically correct lot said were not suitable for children! I know you couldn't make this stuff up but yours is now politically correct!!!
why don't you just cut the card front off, and remount it on another card going in the right direction? I have done this many times. it will work unless your matting paper is directional
Art Glitter Glue (my choice also) is permanent and the UnDu label specifically says it will not remove permanent glue. I'd go with the remove and rotate suggestion above. OR finish it and save it as your sample.
Eisusb, good to know. I like AGG, but I will be extra careful when using it. I was successful with dental Floss and heat tool on the card
