Anyone seen the announcement today by Papertrey Ink regarding company changes?
It appears they are going wholesale with that name.
A new name.....Ink to Paper will offer monthly collections. I think that’s how it all reads.
Yep that’s the email I got this morning. Papertrey Ink goes wholesale only and the new brand Ink to Paper will release new collections every month; I’m assuming as a retail entity.
All the same ink and paper colors will continue to be in the new line. You can transfer any point earned to the new brand as well.
I thought going wholesale meant their products only be sold through other vendors (like Srapbook.com). But with them saying you can still use your points, I'm obviously not understanding the difference between wholesale and retail. Would someone mind explaining it to me and how it relates to PTI? Will they be doing both? Why the name change? TIA!

It's not really that different from places like My Favorite Things or Mama Elephant who sell their own products directly to customers but also offer them at wholesale so that places like Simon Says Stamp or Ellen Hutson can also sell them.

I created an account with PTI and was able to look at my order, so I know now that it is in process and the items are correct. I will have to be patient, I guess. Thanks for the tips!

So now I have nothing but praises for PTI. I ordered three stamp sets early Tuesday and they arrived in Colorado Friday. That's speedy service.

I second the great shopping with PTI. I have ordered a few times from them. Just picked up a recent small order the other day at my U.S. postal box. Never had any problems with them. And also glad to know wholesale will still mean me, lol......
I too have always had great success with PTI orders and they actually replaced a stamp I was having issues with.
(Early on I always heard website issues, but that’s been awhile).
A bit off PTI subject, but the other company I have high praise for is Simon Says. I’m in Portland and I usually receive an order 2-3 days time....going in two years now.
So far the wholesale part of the business consists of one pop up store in Kansas so they are still working on it. Prices at Ink to Paper have gone up on the dies so they are now about even with companies like Altenew. I’ve always liked their cardstock and so far no increase in price on that. Judging from their first release I would say they are starting to move away from their classic PTI style. If you want that style I would look at their former designer Betsy Veldman and her new online store The Greetery. She’s doing a series of videos on watercoloring next week also.

That's impressive, since it usually takes them at least 3 days to even start packing my order, much less to get it delivered.
I made a $27 order at PTI on May 9. Today, May 29, no confirmation of order, no notice of shipping, and definitely no arrival. My only documentation is my PayPal receipt.
I ordered as a guest, so can't check my account.
Sent an email on May 24. No response.
I NOT happy with PTI!
I’m surprised you didn’t get an order confirmation. That should come instantly in an email. I haven’t used PayPal though so maybe that’s handled differently from a credit card order.
Yes, you for sure should have rec'd an email, even if you ordered as a guest. Have you contacted PayPal? Something went wrong somewhere, if you rec'd no confirmation email I'm surprised the charge held. Did the money actually leave your account? I've actually never heard of that happening. I put in an order day before yesterday and it's shipped and expected to arrive on Monday.

My PTI order has arrived. Great stamps.
I did not receive a confirmation email, ever, even though they always arrive instantly when I use PayPal. I think PTI is pretty mixed up.
I have ordered from PTI in the past, never had an issues but I did always hold my breathe as I had read many horror stories of their CS. The new PTI release did not wow me at all. Not one thing I wanted. I did order some from The Greetery, loved her new release!!! Getting rid of all their designers wasn't a good move IMO.
I’ve never had an issue with them either but I have a friend who got a very unnecessarily sharp response from CS just making a simple inquiry. Although their forum is now a ghost town, apparently their old designs are still selling as people wait patiently for a few dies to be released for stamp sets they already own. They have been warehouse clearing for months now. Some consider their designs classic.
Nothing on the new I2P release for me either. I like The Greetery designs also and my ordering experience was seamless. She has now restocked all her designs that sold out.

Did they really get rid of ALL their designers? Would like to know what is going on behind the scenes of this company? Or did the designers choose to leave, for some reason? I would still like to be able to get their stamps and dies. Do you think they are going out of business?

I'm pretty sure it was the designers' decision to leave.
It is my understanding that PTI is selling to the public under the name Ink to Paper; PTI itself will be wholesaling to other companies. They still have terrific card designers, but the only stamp designer that I'm aware of still there is Melissa Bickford.

My understanding is that it was the designer's choice to leave.
I think Jennifer Campbell designed something for Ink To Paper and there was someone new coming on board originally but I'm not sure if it ever happened. I kind of lost track of them since they formed the new company.
