Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites for Week Ending SATURDAY, May 4, 2019
Hi all -
We've turned the page to another new month so it's my turn to start the CAS Favorites thread. After a very rainy and cool week, it was so nice to have a warmer Saturday with lots of sunshine. As I was running my errands, loved seeing the trees starting to bloom and tulips in full bloom.
Seems the Gallery has its own version of a Spring awakening. So many beautiful colors and Springtime themed cards popping up all week. Here are some that caught my eye...
TLC740; Merging Backgrounds by k dunbrook Karen's merged background technique brings new life to your stamps. I was really drawn to the way she framed her focal image.
CC737- DO DAT ADEN NONNIE 2 by Karen B Barber Karen is the queen of richly hued colors and this floral beauty does not disappoint. This is her CAS version. I loved the subtle diamond background with the bold focal. I encourage you to also check out its companion non-CAS card - both are stunning.
Sunny Flowers by SweetMissDaisy I love how Anna used a very subtle background stamp to add interest to her focal image while keeping the overall design CAS. I always love the reminder that it doesn't have to be white to be CAS.
Up, up,and away by Angelnorth Joanne's card is perfectly CAS but invokes childhood memories of finding adventure and joy in the simple things.
Thanks For Being Someone I Can Look Up To by Bar Barbara's foxes look to be delighted that Spring has shown signs of life. In addition to her great no-line coloring, I really liked the balanced composition of her card, something I can struggle with at times.
Dragonfly wishes by Angelnorth Another fave from Joanne - I was impressed with the interesting way to use a splat stamp and found her use of color to really make this an elegant card.
Bubbly Feels! by kerbear*** NEW-TO-ME-STAMPER *** With Spring come thunderstorms and, in turn, rainbows. And I do love a great rainbow-colored card. Kerry's colorful drinks do not disappoint.
So there you have it - some inspiration to get you started. Now it is YOUR turn. Let me know was CAS beauties caught your eye this week. And, if you have some non-CAS favorites, I encourage you to post them over on the regular Favorites thread.
This thread is open to everyone and is a great way to recognize the work of SCS's many talented CAS artists.
There are really only two "rules" here on the thread:
The Gallery posts you link to should be in the CAS style...
--------------------------------
And what does it mean to be Clean and Simple?
It's all about the design.
* Uncluttered
* lots of white or open space
* one main focal point
--------------------------------
...and they should be from the past week.
If you have favorites to share that don't fit as Clean and Simple, we encourage you to share those favorites in the regular Favorites Thread. I will post the thread once it is available
Did you find your way to this thread because someone listed one of YOUR creations as a favorite? In addition to saying thank you, we encourage you to pay that smile you're probably wearing right now forward by sharing a few of the cards/projects YOU favorite-ed this week.
If this is your first time being mentioned in this thread or you have a new blog we have blog badges found here in this post.
Need help linking your Favorites? Follow these steps:
1. Load this week's Favorites thread in your first browser tab. Scroll down and click the Go Advanced button. 2. Open a second tab (or a separate window). Go to the Gallery and click on "My Favorites." 3. Click on a card you have saved. At the top, highlight the web address. Hit Ctrl+C to copy. 4. Switch back to the first tab. Type the cardmaker's SCS name, add a couple of spaces and hit Ctrl+V to paste your link there. Hit Enter twice to add a blank line. 5. Repeat as many times as needed for all your links. 6. Click the Preview Post button and check that your links work. Then click the Submit Reply button.
