Happy Thursday to you all. I know that in America your clocks have Sprung forward (not till the end of the month for us Europeans) and that those of our community down under are starting to enjoy some welcome autumn weather. Here we're gearing up for a holiday weekend, with St. Patrick's Day falling on a Sunday this year. I hope you'll think that stars are always in season, because that's our focus today, with gold as a bonus.
The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) gave the first ever Gold Award on this day in 1958 to Perry Como, for his hit single "Catch a Falling Star". The next award, the first for an album, came four months later for the cast recording of Oklahoma!, featuring Gordon Macrae.
So today's challenge is to feature stars on our cards or projects, with a bonus for gold. If you really aim to be outstanding you could toss in some platinum or diamond too; Platinum Awards were introduced in the seventies to mark sales of over one million, and by the nineties, the Diamond Award was introduced to honour sales of over 10 million.
Since embedded videos are currently not working - if you want to hear Perry Como singing, here's a link to YouTube. I'm sorry I can't include the video in the thread unless by some miracle my final attempt at it actually finally works.
Once you've created your stellar project, upload it with the keyword WT731, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card .
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
As always, my thanks to the team for their shining samples: Lisa, Toni and Cathy
Sabrina, I couldn't believe it when I read your write up ( very interesting, BTW). For whatever unknown reason, my husband woke up singing "Oklahoma" from that play/movie this morning! After which I swung into my rendition of "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning". LOL!!!
Oh Perry Como, such a smooth singer. I remember watching his show on tv (black and white of course). And he was a wonderful family man, very devoted. I'll be playing today, now that I'm home from spending a few days with my littles. I slept 12 hours last night.

Thanks for a fun challenge Sabrina! Of course, now I'm going to be singing Perry Como's song "Catch a Falling Star" all day! It sure brought back good memories. I remember our old black and white TV and every Saturday night Perry Como was on when my mom and dad would be getting ready to go out to play cards with friends.
