It's the last Tuesday of the month, so it's Tickle a Teapotter time again and this month we are delighted to have
Jan, Precious Kitty as our guest hostess. She has a fun challenge for us, sure to bring back many fond childhood memories.
Here it is, in her own words:
February 26 is the day to tell a fairy tale. I have made a poem, to tell my fairy tale. Don’t be alarmed! You will not have to write a story!! And February 26 is also Pistachios day as well. Hence the green on my card!
The challenge is: Think of your favorite childhood story, and take anything about it and make a card. Example: My card is to tell a ‘fairy’ tale. So, I put a ‘fairy’ on my card.
If you loved Peter Cottontail, you may want to put a bunny on your card, or take anything out of that story to create your card. I hope you all have fun! I can’t wait to see what you all create!!
My Poem is my story.
There was a fairy; Who was quite contrary; I asked you, “How so?” “This fairy wings glitters with green. Why? I want to know.” The wise old owl said with a smile; “They’re green because she’s Irish.” “‘She’s Irish? Oh! I wish, I could see! Tell me the story!” I said with glee Can you imagine how high she flies? She may even reach the highest skies. But, during the day, she sits among leaves, On mushrooms caps and drinks her tea. And would you believe her tea is green? With a touch of sugar and a drop of cream? Not a soul knows, where she goes at night. So, “Good-night, good-night. Sweet dreams, sleep tight.”
Written by Jan Leslie
CHALLENGE: Be inspired by a favourite childhood storybook or fairy tale.
EPEC (extra points for extra cookies): use some green on your card.
DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other!
Check out THIS NEW THREAD in the TEApot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions. Make sure to sign up by bedtime on Saturday 2nd of March, as I will do the draw the next morning.
Be sure to use KEYWORD MMTPT553 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card! Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to jacqueline.
I'll be along after work to upload my card and tell you what books inspired me. But I'll tell you now it features a hedgehog. It looks a little shabby after all this time, but for my 5th birthday my dad made me a little wooden hedgehog (complete with pull-along pram made from three-quarters of a coconut shell) based on the little hedgehog in the books. Originally his costume matched the book illustrations, but he's had a couple of new ones over the years and could really do with another.
Thank you so much Jan for this fun challenge and I loved to read your poem!!
I used to read Pinkeltje,
It was translated in several languages in English it was called Fingerling

I used to love the Little Grey Rabbit books when I was small. Obviously I loved this one so much that my dad had to make a new cover for it, LOL. Or maybe a dog chewed it, I don't remember. When I first got my little wooden Fuzzypeg that I shared a photo of below, he was in a blue smock with a white collar as he's shown on the cover of the book.
One of my favorite stories as a young child (a long, long time ago) was The Story of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. Peter was such a mischievous little bunny! Here's my card: (There is a little green grass for extra cookies.)
Here is my fav. story back when...
Not sure if pic will turn out but lest see...:0)

Reason: to fix the picture.
Sweet poem, fun video, and darling story creations. Sadly, my computer is on the blink and I cannot scan, file, print or upload latest creations. My IT guy hasn't responded to my requests for help. We are having an unusual large amount of SNOW putting the brakes on our normal world. The good news is I have power and heat, this little Chrome notebook to check in on SCS'ers, and plenty of art supplies ...oh and food.

I'm here, straggling in at the end with, MMTPT553 Little House on the Prairie. It was hard to pick a favorite, having the perfect stamps helped though!
Thank you Jan for a fun challenge and great memories of childhood books!
I love this challenge...so much fun to re-visit one's childhood. My fairy tale story is all about "Frosty the Snowman." Here is my card: Christmas Wrapped in Holiday Spirit!
