Scrappin' Challenge 2019Can you believe this is our 11th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2018 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2019! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2019! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends. Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2019 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc19feb"

YEAH!!! IT'S FEBRUARY and since I completed all my goals for January, I will make the same goals for FEB...
Scrapbook goal - 10
Cards - 12
Altered Projects - 2
2019 SBC Year to Date - 10
So... like I was saying over in January::::::
I closed January cruising and scrapping with my Valentine, my son, my DIL and my granddaughters. SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!
Here are a few things that I put together while I was cruising....
Nooooo it can't be February...I'm still on my January goals LOL. Time is going way too fast.
I guess I will forget January now and think of January. Back later ladies.
Thanks for the thread Lela.
Happy Saturday and February scrapping

This is EXACTLY how I felt!! I had to look at the calendar twice to figure out where my January went, LOL! I need to upload the last of my January pages, just realized I didn't do that and move on to February ...
but first, I'm in Sunshine today so it's time to enjoy
Scrap On!

I was doing well in January until I hit a scrappy wall about the third week in. Missed my goal but at least I completed 9 layouts. For February, I am going to try for 10 layouts. I'm starting jury duty Monday so I need something relaxing to do in the evenings when I get home - LOL!
I'll go for 6 this month as we have a few things we need to do this month.
Last month I only managed to do 4/10.
Ytd...4
Thanks Lela. Enjoy the sunshine.
Cheryl, jury duty is no fun. I hope it doesn't go for a long time.
Happy Sunday everyone and scrapping

Funny, I didn't mind jury duty all that much. I served on the grand jury for 3 months then a couple years later picked for a jury. Now because of my age and caring for DH I am permanently excused from jury duty.
Have several family bdays this month. If I can get the inspiration and do all their cards on the same day that would be a blessing. I'm trying to balance increasing my exercise at the same time as increasing my scrap goals. I've re-joined Jazzercise after several years away had forgotten how much I really enjoy it. However, Scrap goals still won out over exercise last month...shows you that I still like scrapping more Trying to do 20 exercise classes and 20 scrap pages this month...will see if I hit both or one wins out over the other again..Ha!
Love the weekend LO's the ladies did...awesome. You have motivated me.
This year my intention is to use a stamp, die or scraps on my LO's.
Amy, jazzercise sounds fun....is it like tap dancing exercise or hip hop or a mixture of all dancing? We have a class at our gym I went to end of 2017 called Sha'bam.....it was fast. I love exercise that combines dancing. Enjoy
Happy Monday and scrapping ladies.

So sorry I haven't been around much. Work at the store (I run the base thrift shop) keeps me pretty busy, especially since that Marie Kondo Netflix show has taken over. Have any of you ladies watched it? It's pretty good, but she can never make me clean out my craft room!! lol
Anyhoo. I did manage to complete my January goal, even if I didn't have a chance to photograph them for you ladies. It was super windy here this month (which is pretty normal for Idaho, I've learned). I also completed 1 of my photo books for the year!
February goal: 4 (hope to do more)
YTD: 4 scrapbook pages and 1 photo book
I'll check up on you ladies this afternoon after work Happy Monday!

This past week we have been studying the life of the Apostle John, we also made this poster for the (IC687) Inspirational Challenge here on SCS. The link to the poster that I took my inspiration from is listed in the details.

Hi Liz....good to see you back. I've not seen the Marie Kondo show but hearing a lot about it and have been sent some videos on another thread...I'm decluttering this year but not my craft room either lol.
Happy day

Today after my gym class, I went to have my photos printed so I can start to scrap properly again. I found I had 704 on there from end December 2017 and up until our trip last year...eek. I spent so long putting them into photo layouts in the store that I gave up after 1.5 hrs and finally had all 704 printed. After an hour's wait they still weren't ready so I will go back tomorrow for them. I'm excited about some of them as they are from our trip with my sister around the Canary Islands and it brought it all back...such fun.
I also watched a Youtube video today where a lady creates her own mixed media BG papers for her scrapping...was so easy and amazing LOs...I shall try one one day. She also gave me an idea for one of the card challenges.
Have a wonderful day and hugs to you all from me.

That's a lot! You will have material to scrap for a long, long time!
Nice to revisit your fond memories.
You can't just mention a video and not share! You must give us something so we can watch it if we choose. lol

LOL....sorry ladies, I wasn't sure whether to share or not. I will find the video again and post the link here. Now I know you want them, watch out....I do watch a lot of scrapbooking videos....usually they are mixed media ones and may not be to everyone's taste but I did watch this particular video and thought I could use it on LO's and also on cards. I also pin a lot on Pinterest.....well I used to and I don't think I've revisited any of my boards since. I need some inspiration and find when I have direction I scrap quicker.
If you like Youtube...check out Maremi's Creative Cafe on FB and also on Youtube...she is amazing and does scrapping, cards and mixed media. I have learnt lots of little tips from her over the past year.
It is extremely warm here today and my hair does not like the heat LOL.
I collected my prints and picked up some cheap embellishments for $3 for my project life and other LOs...just a couple...not that I need them LOL but they were cheap. Everything is sitting on my craft table waiting. I have a couple of cards to make but know already what I shall do with those and then I'm back to scrapping. It is too hot to do chores.
Happy Thursday and keep warm...send me some cooler weather please. It is going to be warmer here on the weekend...way too hot.

Ladies, you may not thank me for this. I used to spend more time watching than creating, but here's some sites that I subscribe to...lol. I follow a lot but only now watch videos that appeal to me.
The one I was referring to was Scrapbook.com and I like Vicki Boutin. She has a lot of videos on there and the one I liked was a mixed media one called colour kaleidoscope.
I follow the following for project life and mini journals...
Ali Edwards
Amy Gretchen
Paige Evans
Studio calico
Becky Higgins
For scrapbooking and particularly mixed media I like....
Michelle McDonald
Missy Whidden
Gabrielle Pollacco
Wiluna Furstenberg
Blue Fern Studios
Marilyn Rivera
Maremi Smallart
Audrey Yeager
Oh Mamarazzi
Nadia Cannizzo
Kelly Foster
For cards, I follow....
Jennifer McGuire
Catherine Pooler
Justine Hovey
Tim Holtz
K Werner
Laurel Beard
Amy Tangerine
My sweet petunia
Cathy Zielske
Kamiya Routsis......I think she's cards..lol
The Daily Marker
Stamp tv with GinaK
Delusions Dyan
Heather North
Virginia Lu
Ingrid Blackburn
Kelly Latevola
I've unsubscribed from a lot but still get emails from sites such as Simple Simon Stamps and I follow Dusty Attic here.
Phew....no wonder I don't get time to create lol. I rarely go to a lot of these sites now but sometimes I find something to inspire me or a new technique to try.
Have fun

Thanks Jayne. I rarely watch stuff, maybe 3 or 4 a week. I do know some of the names you listed.
Here's a tid bit for you who have been here on SCS for a while. K Werner, Kristina Werner, used to post her cards here a lot under the name of Star of May. Not sure of the spacing anymore, but she does awesome work.
I must throw another name on the list (which I plan on copying over to a file for when I am in the mood to surf some videos) is Alicia McNamara who uses one of my very favorites Kaizercraft. Love what she does with a page, although I just can't achieve the same, especially since I don't buy the latest products, but do get bits of ideas to use.
Jayne, perhaps we all need to set a time limit on our non-scrapping time - on line browsing. Maybe with scrapping time spent we 'pay' ourselves with guilt-free video watching. Getting a couple of inspiring ideas is worth the time, unless we spend so much time watching we actually become overwhelmed and do nothing for our own work. That is where I found myself a while back.
I have made 5 pages so far this month. One I haven't posted here because it is for a sketch that will be introduced around the 22nd.
Jayne I admire all the card making you have been doing! I still have my goal of making a card for every layout so I don't fall behind in cards. Right now I need to get some valentines in the mail for my 'poppets'!

Hi Joyce Ann, I haven't been watching much at all for a while until this week and only a couple. When I first started cardmaking I was doing nothing else but learning lots. Then I found scrapbook videos...oh my. I also tend to watch when I'm in a rut and to get some inspiration.

Wow, I love Kristina Werner's work...I wonder whether some of the ladies I watch on youtube are on this site. I knew Catherine Pooler used to be a SU demo lady but now she has her own range I rarely see stuff on this site with her products. I love her cards and also some of the ladies who design for her. I think Ardyth now designs for her. Jayne, perhaps we all need to set a time limit on our non-scrapping time - on line browsing. I like this idea. I started my year by saying I would not go onto this site too long but chats with you ladies and others on other threads brings me joy so I have decided that that is what I need to think about. I like to come on and first check the daily challenges and to see whether there are any that I would like to do. Then I like to say hi on the various threads but now I'm on so many that it can be overwhelming and so I need to only chat when I have free time. I also receive pm's and I like to reply as soon as I can...it all takes time as you know. If I kept my posts short, then I would be on and off quicker LOL
Jayne I admire all the card making you have been doing! I still have my goal of making a card for every layout so I don't fall behind in cards. Right now I need to get some valentines in the mail for my 'poppets'!
Thank you. I have given myself a goal of 1 card/week but some weeks I make more and especially when I like the challenges. As you know, even making a card takes time even though I learnt through VSN that I can make a card within 45 mins-1 hr. I tend to take my time when doing a challenge without a time limit and even finding the right stash takes time. Yesterday I made 3.5 cards and hope to finish the remaining 1.5 I have sitting on my desk. They took about 2.5 hrs to make. I also had my scrapping sitting there and photos and didn't get to those. My problem is that with scrapping unless I have a sketch or some direction, I can't come up with a LO. That is why I went online this week and saw the video...just to get some inspiration. Also, doing the mini album I am finding more challenging with lots of photos and now think I should have stuck to 12x12. It is all trial and error.
I never considered making cards 3 years ago and now I do more than scrapping. I will never stop scrapping but I do tend to be more up and down with it. I look at all of the LOs on this thread and wish I could just knuckle down and do it. I spend too much overthinking things.
I also need valentines cards for the poppets and hubby.
One thing I have learnt this week....it was sort of a lightbulb moment LOL...and I know I will have been told this before and you ladies all know it, is that I must only focus on 3 colours on my cards and LOs and 3 embellishments. I tend to put way too much on mine as you know and I think I am finding that I prefer a much less cluttered look. Perhaps it is because I am also wanting to have a less cluttered life LOL.
That's my chat for the day....time to carry on. Happy Friday everyone...sleep well.

Happy Saturday everyone...I hope that your weekend brings you joy and lots of craft time.
I finished another card so have over-achieved my goal for this week. Still some more to do but I need balance and have 704 (maybe more LOL) photos to go through for scrapping.
We caught up with son1 and the poppets today. They have swimming lessons on Saturday mornings. DGS swims like a fish at 8 and DGD is coming on nicely and could survive if she fell into a pool. It is always a worry living here as there's always someone with a pool or near the ocean. We had brunch afterwards and then played mini-golf. Fortunately my sore back from yesterday is much better today and I can now move again...yay.
Not much else happening this end....it's warm again and will be hotter tomorrow. I plan to spend some more time in my craft room today and that's about it. We have chores to do....not the routine stuff but more decluttering.....and neither of us feels like tackling it in this weather.
Have fun.

Yahoo for the weekend! Although it's going to be a busy one
My "creative MOJO" has been pushed recently as I'm doing February LOAD (LayOutADay) so we're 9 days into the month and I have 16 pages done ...
I like this challenge as it really pushes me to "just scrap" -- some days there is no time to OverThink.
Today I'm the "hostess" for our Planner Meet Up Group. All that means is that we come up with a "theme" and something interesting to share. I'm taking cardmaking supplies (card bases) and showing them how to use their "planner supplies" (Washi and Stickers) for quick and easy cards. I made 8 samples and I think it will be fun. Some of the gals have HUNDREDS of rolls of Washi Tape so ...
Then I head for the Airport .... (no surprise there?) However this trip has a personal part to it. I'll share soon, it's all good, just a little overwhelming
Scrap On!

Lela, sounds like a fun but busy day. Can't wait to hear your good news, too! Great job on your LOAD. I haven't managed one for a while; I've started a few times but it seems my mojo always peters out about halfway through the month. I finished a couple more layouts this week, so here they are.
