Challenge Title: Krazy for Kraft & Black

Yes, that date says 2019! I hope you all had wonderful holidays and New Year! Thanks again for joining us here on Splitcoaststampers. We appreciate your time and talents you share with us every month.

This month, I'm worn out from making so many cards from October through December. Unfortunately, as in every past year, I run out of time and end up not sending Christmas cards to everyone on my list. I always end up making Happy New Year Cards in January to send out to those I missed or to those that sent me cards that I hadn't anticipated.

In January, I look for simple cards to mass produce. My Christmas cards are pretty detailed and now is the time to relax a bit and get some simple yet pretty cards made.

For this year's card, I thought I would go with a card anchored by Kraft paper. I've been seeing so many cards made with Kraft paper and black ink. Simple. Trendy. Elegant. Easy. So for this challenge, I took a Christmas set I bought after Christmas to turn into a New Year's card.

Here it is:

Stamp Set (trees): Gina K Designs Christmas Greenery
Stamp Set (geese): Kitchen Sink Stamps Limited Edition set for JunkieFest 2018
Stamp Set (Sentiment and die) Papertrey Ink Uncorked
Black Ink: Gina K Designs Amalgam Black ink
Paper: Gina K Designs Kraft
Stamping Tool: MISTI Original size. I used my MISTI to line up my sentiment on my die strip and in conjunction with my Creative Corners for stamping my trees over the edge on the base card.

This card took no time at all, good for men or women recipients and is trending right now in our industry.

Your challenge for this month is to create a card or project using Kraft and black colors only. You can use them however you want. Black paper or ink. Kraft paper or Black paper. You do not have to do a New Year card. It may be any occasion.

MISTI Monday

Hmmm...those trees are really black? They look green to me...I will need to figure out something for this challenge. It seems simple but oh dear...

Kraft is brown correct? Or is kraft cream?

I'll have to go looking for those answers!

Yep, very black. Sorry about the picture looking green. Not sure why....looks black here. I describe Kraft paper as a brown paper bag color paper. Hope that helps! Thank you!

It doesn't matter to me, I just want to know so that I know if it will make a difference to enter one card or five...maybe write up more details...or just meet the challenge it is luck of the draw...or whatever MISTI Monday wants. I agree, I like information that helps me process...also said to my children during their growing years...stay within the lines, the lines are your friends...and rules weren't made to be broken...

MISTI Monday will get back here at some point...no clue who she is but she's always come back!

AND...YES...YOU NEED A MISTI...everyone needs a MISTI...in my opinion...and now a ruler too!

The next challenge if one should happen won't happen until the first Monday in February...which is 6 days before your birthday and Misti's birthday too!

Sally, I hope you win and get one. If not this time, it's worth putting a few $$ aside each week to save for one. I don't think they are expensive. I once watched a video on YouTube of someone who had made their own temporarily. It wasn't perfect but helped.

I'd love some of Misti's corners....on my wish list.

If I win I will give her my winning! She needs a MISTI, I got my original one through a win on SCS...I have 2 and the corners...and I'm waiting for the rulers to arrive...or be shipped or something (my husband ordered them so I really don't know the status)

You Ladies are too sweet. Thank you for the comments and support. I've seen those make shift videos. If you're gonna get a MISTI, you need to get a MISTI. MISTI Monday finally got her patent, so...my birthday is this month...maybe...LOL! I'll make a wish as I blow out the candle. Can't put all of the candles on there or there would be a forest fire! Faye, I was thinking the same thing and then I thought what about Julia...maybe she needs one LOL. I doubt they would ship to Oz so she can have mine if I win.

I don't usually like winning from companies because I struggle to find something my style...I wasn't sure I would use a MISTI but now almost every card I use the MISTI some how...

I really like winning the Fan Club membership...that is probably the most useful prize in my opinion!

WOW...isn't MISTI Monday going to have a lot to read when she gets back on-line (Maybe she was at that show last week and never recovered! OR maybe she's getting my rulers ready for shipping and can't get on-line yet!) Oh the stories I tell in my head...
