We will challenge you to create a card...and show off some inspiring examples to get you motivated!
This week, we are celebrating things that go POP! in honor of National Popcorn Day here in the US, which is Jan. 19th. (Not to be confused with National Caramel Corn Day which is April 6th! haha)
The challenge is popcorn...or pop up card...or a popped balloon. It's yours to decide, create, and upload!
Check out some of these POP up tutorials from Splitcoaststampers to help you along!
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!
Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows: One window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
Hey challenge team...congratulations and I'll look forward to what you bring us these next 6 months! I love the start you've given us and can't wait to see the gallery today.
I did not have any bubble wrap on hand (some super cool samples in the gallery!), but I had some popcorn in arm's distance. When I used the popcorn to stamp with, it turned out to look a little like confetti. Thus, a somewhat unusual, but festive birthday card. Thanks for looking.
Here’s my creation for the challenge, a bookmark with a barn door that pops open. I submitted 2 photos at once, thinking it would be a split view only to discover that it posted the photos separately. Yikes! I cobbled together a link between the two, hoping that minimizes the confusion.
for this week's pop up challenge, I went with a pop up flower, using watercolor powders in purple and yellow. Popped out the center of my flower with a dimensional, and added larger petals to the base of my card. Here's pop up flower

I'm playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking and getting a belated birthday card finished at the same time.
My card has two popped features...the sentiment and the hair bow, plus it uses the POP of Pink dsp. Mediums: dye stamping ink, Copic markers (black color to pearls).
