What do you make *other than* cards and scrapbooks?
I love papercrafting, but am feeling d.o.n.e. with making cards (plus I have a big stash of extras) and scrapbooking. Looking for a new challenge, something useful to keep or give away. What do you make?

I'm considering dipping a toe into art journaling. Lots of great You Tube videos from people who do. Plus there are ATC's too.

I do art journaling too, and I occasionally make home decor items. Although it's not paper crafting, I make jewelry. I also knit and crochet a bit.

I’ve had times where I felt the same and considered dropping it all together. But then I realized that I enjoy the craft, just needed someone else to actually USE the cards. Have you considered donating your stash of extras? There are a lot of options on the Cards for a Cause board but if shipping is an issue, you may have groups in your community who would welcome them. (Nursing home, medical treatment center...) Just a thought...
But to your original question... I don’t have another papercrafting hobby. I’m lousy at journaling and don’t really want anyone reading my deepest thoughts. Lol
I enjoy crochet as my something different.

Painting, writing, woodworking, gardening (in gardening season). Very new to paper crafts, and I enjoy the learning part as much as the creative process.

Keep thinking about scrapbookking but have never started. I do like to sew......mostly craft items for friends. I also make receiving blankets and burp cloths to donate to different charities and our local hospital.......between 50 and 100 each year. Making cards is my go too though.

I have whittled down the things I make as paper crafting has been my passion for 20 years.
I have no use for items to display that require MORE supplies.
In the long run it is less expensive to purchase that one item I want then going out to get all the supplies to make it!
Now if I can combine a home project with supplies I already have then I will buy that one wooden board to make my own wall art, or enough cotton yarn to make a few dish clothes then done, make my own pallet board sign in DS's workshop then stencil and vinyl the design. Done
Back to paper crafting!
Scrapping and mixed media scrapping is enough for me.

I used to do other crafts, sewing, needlecraft, painting but since I started making cards and collecting the things I "need" to do that, it's my one and only.
It also ties in with coloring and watercoloring which I also like but mostly I use what I make for the cards.

Other things I make related to paper crafting are bookmarks, I have made theme specific ones for a couple different occasions or requests. Perhaps you could make for a local library or school?
Also, little pockets for candy canes, hot chocolate mix, that sort of thing.
My daughter moved away and has most of her belongings storage until she is settled. So I prepped up a kit for her to assemble for her new friends for Christmas. She loved receiving all the components! And I loved getting it ready for her.

Bread in the winter and chiles and tomatoes in the summer. Give most of it away and eat the rest.

If you look around my house, you cannot tell a crafter lives here. I am making some banners for each season to decorate an unused corner of my living room. Other than that, it's all cards and scrapbooking.

Thanks for all of the replies and inspiration! I like making things that I can give away, and you've given me some great ideas. I think I'll start with food.

Batches of gift tags, stamped/gilded tissue paper and decorated gift bags, decorated boxes. I plan to make a batch of labels for my red pepper jam and I’m enclosing a stamped bookmark in get well cards.

As mentioned above, I make bookmarks and gift tags.
I also really love to use my stamps to make wrapping paper. You can make beautiful patterns on plain white or solid colored rolls and then make matching gift tags.

DIY journals and books have been my latest passion with my papercraft supplies. Not only do I make or decorate blank books/journals but I also use my stamps to make encouragement booklets for friends who are going through something. Online binding videos are plentiful and as a result I have a shoebox full of blank books in all sizes ready to give away or use.

I feel like these days cardmaking *is* the other thing I do... in most of my creative time I've got a colored pencil in my hand, working on portrait commissions.
This is the last one I finished for 2018!

What do I make in the paper crafting realm besides cards? I make a lot of home decor items. This year has been a year of centerpieces. I just got done covering 15 foam cones with a variety of materials including designer paper, glitter, ribbon, glitter, fabric, glitter, to be table centerpieces at a Christmas party this evening. I also made 50 party favors.
I've discovered that I really love the process of creating 3-D decorative items and will probably be doing more.
As far as non-paper crafting things go, I cook. I love to cook and I'm really good at it. And I crochet. Last year I started making scarves for the homeless community so I tend to spend most of my crochet time making them since almost everyone I know already has a blanket I made for them

It’s funny how one hobby leads to another. In my case I went from making cards to bullet journaling, after that I added bible journaling and am now about to try making my first junk journal. I still make an occasional card but I find I can use my supplies and what I’ve learned in other paper crafts. Junk journaling (funny, because most people don’t use junk that much) is kind of like mini scrapbooking and journaling rolled into one. Check out the YT videos.

You might try Junk Journals with or without journaling and Pocket Letters. I enjoy sending pocket letters to my grand daughter and she loves the small crafty things I include. There are some great videos out there. Also, altered books, index cards and rolodex cards. Take a look at Pinterest, too. Have fun and use up your stash at the same time!!

Beads & stuff
I've made bead jewellery for many years and was never interested in card making. Then one day I tried making paper beads and was immediately hooked. From there it was only a short jump to card making as I decided to make beads on a theme with a card to match. But at the moment I'm learning card making first and finding it immensely enjoyable.

Go for making jewelry. There are thousands of how-to ideas and tutorials online. I suggest starting with Artbeads.com both for ideas, techniques and as a source for materials. Sign up for emails as they have sales on something almost every week. I’m sure they’ll have amazing Boxing Day sales too. Basic tools are available for not too much money and most beads are reasonable. I’m a huge fan of Swarovski bicones (they seem to be popular and therefore cheaper than other shapes) and fire polished crystals. Findings are available in silver and gold plated but also the very reasonably priced but much higher quality gold or silver filled. (The name is a misnomer really. It means the plating is thicker so it lasts longer). I used to just do simple stringing but then got into cutting my own silver shapes, doing some wire work and soldering. I LOVE soldering! Jewelry makes awesome gifts too.

If you are bored with just cards, take a look in your stash of Gift Bags and make a card to match the gift bag. These are SO fun to make b/c the color scheme and shapes and theme are already in front of you!! I find it VERY fun!! Good luck
