Default Reviving dried up stamp pads

I'm sure this forum will have answers for me!
How do you revive dried up stamp pads when you don't have the reinker?

Do a search for "ink refresher" on your vendor of choice. There are several brands out there. Perfect Ink Refresher was perhaps the first. Ranger has one and also has Distress Refresher. Spray a couple of times on the pad and let sit closed overnight. In my opinion, it helps but won't work a miracle when it's time for a re-inker or pad replacement.

Be careful what kinds of ink pads you put water on. Not all of them are water based. Basically you need to reapply the solvent (whatever solvent that may be) to the ink pad, and hope it's a kind that can be revived thusly.

Anything that's acrylic paint based isn't going to be rescuable; once acrylic is dry it plasticizes. If it's water or alcohol based, you'll have better luck.

If your "dry" ink pads are actually out of ink, you have to buy more ink or a new pad. Adding more solvent will just get you a weaker colour.

Ranger use to make an ink refresher. Maybe they still do.

They do - looks like it's out of stock right now and the info needs to be corrected, but here's the link:

Ranger Ink Refresher

  • Ink refresher for water based stamp pads and markers
  • Acid free and non-toxic
  • Made in USA

Several years ago I wrote down someone's suggestion for refreshing ink pads. I have used both with mixed results depending on the dryness of the pads:
"Dye Ink Pads - Mix 2 oz. distilled water and 2 drops of glycerin in a spray bottle. Spritz once or twice and let sit for an hour. If this doesn't work, you probably need a new pad."
"Pigment Ink Pads - Work pure glycerin into the pad with an old credit card or plastic spoon."

Can you just re-ink it?
