Default Sidekick Enabling

I don’t love enabling, but feel obligated to post that the white Sidekick starter kit is on Amazon for $27 and the brown one for $30, free shipping for Prime members.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1

ETA: Price is $22.10 on 11/30.

My early New Years present arrived. I’m surprised at how sturdy it feels and that it takes larger than I thought it would. It also really holds tight to the couple surfaces I’ve tried it on.

I don’t think I’ll use it that much - Gemini Junior is perfect for my not-great-achy hands, but it will be handy for just a quick little die cut.

I find I'm using my Sidekick much more than I thought I would. I have so many word dies and today I sat at my desk and cut out almost all the Merry Christmas dies I have to put on cards since all but 1 fit in the Sidekick.

Now that I have one I can understand why you’d find that quick and easy!

It would be nice if Sizzix made extended pads for long, narrow dies. Though the reason I moved from a manual machine to the Gemini Junior is because manually cranking hurts my hand.

So I’ll definitely grab the Sidekick for the occasional small die - faster than with a full-sized machine and just a few quick cranks. But overdoing it isn’t in the cards. Ha.

I was making 15 star treat boxes without knowing how I’d decorate the tops, other than small stamps and dies would be used, and wanting every box to be different.

Using the Sidekick I’d die cut one or two small elements - a banner, snowflake, etc. - finish one box and decide what to use next. Working on one helped spur spur ideas for the next.

If I was a good planner, I could have loaded lots of little dies onto my Gemini Junior plate and in a couple passes, had everything die cut. But that’s not how I roll.

What surprised me was turning the handle was like butter - in fact I’d figure there wasn’t enough pressure to cut the CS. But every die cut perfectly. Majestic little beastie!
