WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY CHALLENGE MMTPT540
Whykickamoocow Festival
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
It's the last Tuesday of the month, so it's Tickle a Teapotter time once again, and this month our guest hostess is
Susie australia, Susie. As is traditional, she has invited us to visit Whykickamoocow to see what's going on there...Let's go Down Under and find out what's happening!
Where does the time go! It’s been 12 months since we last visited Whykickamoocow. For our new Teapotters and visitors, Whykickamoocow (why-kick-a-moo-cow) is a remote South Australian outback town. Population 256.
Last time we visited Whykickamoocow, old Mrs. Mac had torn her hammie clean off the bone following a spectacular mishap during Indi’s pole dancing classes. Thankfully she’s as good as gold now. The funds raised by selling the Whykickamoocow Country Women’s Association (W.C.W.A) calendar, covered the cost of her rehab in Gimpleroo and there is enough money left over to fund three and a half minutes of fireworks at next months festival.
Gertie has had a full recovery too, she loves the new leg that Jacko whipped up for her on his lathe. The leg has rusted a bit around the hinges, but it is a beautiful patina colour that matches her hair perfectly.
A funny thing happened last week – Gertie was shoving some money down the back of her armchair for safe keeping and some horsehair stuffing fell out. She had also been decopaging some peanut butter jars at the time and there was glue everywhere….. yep you guessed it, the horsehair is stuck to Gerties fake leg, or faux leg as she likes to call it. She’s tried everything to get the horsehair off her faux leg, even Jacko had a go at it with his electric sander. They are currently waiting for Merv to call in on his way home from bowls. There is nothing that man can’t fix; he owns every tool and handy gadget that the TV shopping network has sold since 1956. If anyone can remove faux hair from a faux leg, it will be Mervyn. Now that we are up to speed, here is what’s happening.
The theme for this years Whykickamoocow Festival is “Be the Best You Can Be”. Along with the crowning of Miss Whykickamoocow, there will also be several other “Best in Show” awards. Trophies and gift vouchers to Woodsie’s General Store will be awarded to the Best Floral display, Best Bird/s and Best Musician/Musical Performance.
With all of these “best of” awards, the crowning of Miss Whykickamoocow AND three and a half minutes of fireworks, this is shaping up to be the BEST festival ever.
CHALLENGE: Challenge translation. Choose one of the “Best in Show" categories listed above as inspiration for your card or create a “Miss Whykickamoocow” card. Remember to sign up for this months Teapot Tickle and put a big smile on a Teapotters face. EPEC (extra points for extra cookies): Bunting/flags ….or for the adventurous, fireworks!.
DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other!

Truly you need to write a Whykickamoocow book Susie...another fabulous challenge and installment of your story. Thanks !:p Can't wait to see everyone's cards.
I couldn't resist playing in today's challenge, although I apparently don't play by the rules well. After I got this finished I realized there is not a bird, floral arrangement or musician in sight! I got in the fireworks, though, LOL!
Here's my card and Miss Leggy's attempt to win Miss Whykickamoocow Contest!
Since Joyce, secretary for WCWA, was stressed about this year’s Miss Whykickamoocow Contest, she contacted Jim Smiley to ask if Daniel Webster (Jim’s frog from The Calaveras Frog Jumping Contest) could be a guest judge. (See Mark Twain) Dan’l agreed to fly to South Australia, since he’d never been there and he knew he couldn’t jump quite that far.
Well, Miss Leggy entered the contest wearing her finest crystal tiara and necklace hoping to win a trophy and gift voucher from Woodsie’s General Store. However, Dan’l wasn’t a fan of Miss Leggy and disqualified her because she was from Stinkinswampsville in Northern Australia. Miss Leggy was royally miffed and decided to dispose of Guest Judge Daniel Webster!
Oh wow I have just finished commenting on the first 14 cards. I laughed until I leaked. Thanks so much for all bringing Whykickamoocow to life. I have laughed at all the comments as much as I have at the cards and stories. Thank you!!!

Once again we have the “Whykickamoocow” Festival in Australia! Miss LuLoo decided to be venturous and dress up for the fun. Being single gets a bit boring so she was hoping to meet someone at the fireworks or maybe enter the Best of Birds contest. Even though she refuses to give up doughnuts, she figured her cute hand made skirt would hide a few pounds. She even made her fun hat! What a catch! She was definitely looking for magic at the festival.
However, she was told that the extra pounds she had put on eliminated from the bird contest.......so
And then during the fireworks, she managed to lose her hat and lace skirt. No magic yet! But she did enjoy the brief fireworks. So Miss LuLoo is looking forward to next year if she can give up the doughnuts.

Kathy's card isn't in her gallery yet but she has shared it in her sign-up post. I'll see if I can copy it over here too. BBL.

Gertie's been secretly taking advanced pole dancing lessons with Indi. Here's her talent act for the Miss Whykickamoocow contest, MMTPT540 Gertie's Return .
Hey girls Finally made it....had fireworks exploding...at wrong times..he-he...Here is "Miss Snowflake" entering the contest.

I loved this, Miss Susie, and really wanted to play along when I got chance, even if late! Since the card is for Covington Crafter’s birthday it fits the theme of giving to a fellow SCSer…sort if!
MY WHYKICKAMOOCOW STORY
I noticed last year, while attending the Whykickamoocow Festival, that the town was sadly missing any evidence of butterflies to glorify any of the 256 gardens in that remote area!
I asked myself. "Self, does that mean they have outlawed butterflies in the outback…even the green Richmond Birdwing, which is native to Australia!?? I self-righteously felt this was just NOT right! I felt it my sanctimonious obligation to transplant a new green-winged species concocted in my very own garage scientific laboratory back home.
I spent many days and nights brewing the most delicious combinations of green and settled on Emerald Envy and Lemon Limey. Into my green butterfly brew, I threw in all sizes of sequins for spots and some Wink of Stella for sheen too! As the days went by my little winged creatures blossomed and flew out of the brew all excited and chattering something about glue. They couldn’t wait to make their flight to Whykickamoocow to show off their beautiful velvet wings and win a trophy or two for they surely are the very best they can be!
